Alyona Shchennikova Named SEC Specialist of the Week

I said before the first meet of the season that once she gained some confidence, she would be awesome. She's had 2 great meets in a row and is showing that she can be counted on as a consistent contributor for the post-season

I always thought she was talented even as an elite but just needed some confidence. She looks confident right now and it shows in her routines.

Ironically, vault and floor are her best events at the NCAA level. I honestly think vault, beam and floor are better than her bars. Weird how NCAA works for many elite level athletes, where everything that succeeded or struggled at goes out the window at times.

The way she had been performing, she should be doing All-Around.
