Young QB and o-line. This is the make or break year.

Obviously a coach can fix player's problems as well as their own.
Some problems can be fixed. Others cannot. Stupidity is one that can't be fixed. Stupidity that leads to poor decisions in heated, chaotic situations will ALWAYS plague Les Miles. He can't fix it. It's not his fault. He didn't make himself stupid, he was just born that way. He can no more choose not to be stupid than he chose to be stupid in the first place.
Maybe he, like most stupid people, has the capacity to learn from stupid mistakes and not make the same stupid mistake again in the same situation, but he, like all stupid people, will always continue to make new stupid mistakes in new situations.

bashing the coaching staff every single day is not making anything better
When thousands of people are saying something, people listen. Even though any one individual among those thousands may lack the personal authority to effect change, thousands together demanding it and not shutting up until they get it can frequently accomplish a lot.
People who love LSU football have reason to be angry right now. An idiot in charge is ruining it, and those whose responsibility it is to stop him aren't doing it. If anything, we are not speaking our minds enough. We should be even louder and more angry than we are.

We have not under achieved, we won 8 and 9 games with inferior talent to Bama and Florida.
bullshite. We do not have talent inferior to Bama, and if we do, then it's the fault of the coach who has had five years to recruit the talent we have. And Bama and Florida are only responsible for four of our NINE losses the past two years. Ole Miss, Arkansas, Georgia and Penn State, who went a combined 5-2 against us over the past two years, have talent inferior to ours.
quote:
we had inexperience at QB the last two years.
Inexcusable for that to happen two years in a row. Inexperience at QB is a ONE-YEAR problem. It's Miles' fault that he wasted 2008 not developing anybody for 2009.
quote:
its been strictly talent level not coaching.
It's college football. Coaches are in charge of recruiting. Talent level IS coaching.

Miles will prove after this year what BS is on this board,
Yes, unfortunately, he will prove that you and all the other apologists are full of BS. But that won't do anybody any good, will it?
quote:
he will probably pack up and move to Michigan where he is wanted.
Michigan does not want him. Nobody else does, either. When (not if) he finally gets fired by LSU, he will have nowhere to go but home to count his undeserved millions in buyout money.

The Ole Miss game was not Miles fault, IMO
Calling a pass play that got us sacked and knocked out of FG range was not his fault? Letting 17 seconds run off the clock before calling time out was not his fault? Not having the FG unit ready to run on the field immediately so they could kick it as soon as the ball was signaled ready for play was not his fault? It all was his fault. So was the fact that we played like crap and needed a miracle just to be in position for him to throw the game away in the first place.
quote:
No matter what anyone says, the FG attempt was an impossibility because the referee starts the clock on his arm signal when all the players get lined up - there would have been no time to get the FG unit onto the field - it was a physical impossibility.
Purdue did it under exactly the same circumstances just a couple of years ago. No timeouts left, one second on the clock, first down, clock to start when signaled ready for play. Exactly the same situation. They had their FG unit waiting on the sideline until the play ended, then immediately ran them on the field and lined up before the clock started, then immediately snapped it and kicked the winning FG as time expired. Purdue coaches and players noted that they practice that very situation, knowing that it might come up in a game.

Bama had a 1st year starter at QB. If I'm not mistaken they had a pretty good year.
Bama had a 1st year starter who had been in the program since 06. LSU had a 1st year starter who had been in the program since 08.

Fair or not, Miles is the responsibility party for everything that happens in a game or with the program.
If we are to give him credit for the 51 wins in 5 years, and believe me I do, that loss and all the others go to his side of the ledger as well. imo

This is true....but some refuse to give him credit for anything.

I actually agree it's time to move on, but why do we still have pro-Miles posters still defending Les months after the season is over? I am talking about 1 post after another that are started by Miles supporters instead of as a response to an anti-Miles post. Everytime you post stuff like this you drag up the last 2 seasons. Let it go. Les has next year to coach. Last I checked he is still our coach. Time for the pro-Miles people to let Les do his talking on the field. Stop starting the posts if you are sick of people talking about it. Don't complain about people talking about it and then start another thread. Bad plan.

No, we didn't. It never ceases to amaze me how easily the apologists slide into downright dishonesty in their desperation to defend a failed coach.

It doesn't matter how much talent is on a football team, we have been second to none according to talent since our championship in 2003. It takes a good head coach to win a SEC championship and much more to be a National Championship. I don't care if it was Saban's players, you cannot tell me, you just can't, no matter what ya'll say it won't change my opinion that Les Miles really didn't earn that championship, and isn't fully prepared to take us to another one, and WIN it. Yes I'll admit Crowton and Stud have been questionable at best, but do you think it's just been lackadaisical, and a fluke. I mean we were ready to give Miles the throne after coming in here and doing what he did in his FIRST season during Katrina, then working through a tough schedule in 2006 to have a pretty good year, then winning a NC in 2007. Now two years later, he's the SAME EXACT COACH, he hasn't changed, he's still "the Hat" the guy that I want IMO leading us in 2010 and hopefully for as long as he wants to be here after (michigan jokes aside). I'm not sitting here telling you that the coaches haven't been a problem, but it's not the only problem, and I'll say again as someone mentioned earlier "how do you know that problems will be fixed". I have an answer for you, how do you know problems won't be fixed? We got Grade A coaches last spring on D and what happened? improvement....We were able to get Gonzales and Wilson this spring, I'm thinking same outcome. But ya'll negatigers can keep wasting your breath everyday with these Jefferson/Lee threads, how bad our Coaching staff is, How dumb Les is, and how were falling off the face of the earth, sounds fun to me........

There are ALOT more anti-Miles threads started...ALOT. Show me one pro-Miles thread on this board and i'll show you 5 anti-Miles threads right next to it. Ive only responded to dumbass posts....never started a thread.

You label others with talk of "dishonesty" and in the same sentence you label the winningest 5 year coach in LSU history with a 4-1 bowl record, 2 SEC West title, and SEC title, and a national title as a "failed coach".
There are probably fans of bout 110 other D-1 programs wishing their last 5 yrs had been as "failed".
Perhaps you should be more concerned with your own "dishonesty" than what you see as the "dishonesty" of others.
