OTOP had a tweet yesterday saying he had already turned down A&M, was in line for a fat raise at Tennessee, but would still come to LSU if offered.
I'm sure they've been back channel speaking through Woodward, unless he's just a complete moron, bent on hiring someone who's won a title already. He hired Chris Peterson, who hadn't won a title but had success at Boise, right? Come on, Scott! Please get this right!

I want Vitello to be the guy but if Woodward hires him it will be against his normal coaching hires. Peterson may have not won anything at Boise but he had sustained success over multiple years at G5 school and competed against heavyweights and won some. Woodward’s MO is throw a bunch of money at a proven winner over an extended period of time. Vitello is an up and comer that doesn’t necessarily have the skins on the wall but in my opinion is the next great coach in college baseball.
