Why would we want history to repeat it self? If we look at where he is going, and apply what you are showing us happen with other coaches in similar situations. We should cut our loses now and move on. You just mentioned how good the sec coaches are now, and we can all see that miles cant compete in this conference

My point is that Miles is a better coach than Coker. LSU has been in almost every game this year with a chance to win.

The 3 losses were to the #1, #2, and preseason top 5 teams.

USC has the same record as LSU but would you consider Carrol a better coach than Miles? His 3 losses are to far worse teams. And he barely beat a terrible ND team. The same Washington team that LSU beat, beat USC.

Pete Carrol is finding out how hard going undefeated will start to be in the PAC-10 with all the good coaches they are starting to get.

Carrol could never be the same coach in the sec. ANY team that can win the conferance 7 years in a row playes in a weak conferance. USC has talent as good as anyone every year. Yet Carrol only has one NC. They can claim what they want, but they have only one crystal ball.

Assistant Head Coach Larry Porter will coach the team in its upcoming bowl game, a likely matchup against Clemson in the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowls.

Totally unrealistic. The Music City Bowl wouldn't take us two years in a row.

That is my point. But how many LSU fans would cheer for Carrol to take over for Miles? I would bet a lot of them would.

Again, losses to the #1, #2, and AP preseason #8 team is better than preseason AP #4 USC losing to Washington, Oregon, and Stanford.

It's not the record, "T", as much as the trend.
The trend is not stable or up - it is sliding downhill. Coaching <, recruiting <, record <, player retention <, player development <

On another note, we can't even book all the good players in LA. If you don't sign them, they can't help you. Reed , McKnight, Fobbs, Bolden, Lacy, Lewis, Green, Breaux, Ferguson

Sol,

I agree with most of what you said, but keep in mind they cant sign everyone even if they all want to come to lsu.
