Pete Carroll.........

just because most of his players go to the NFL doesnt make him a good, much less a great, coach. In fact it tells me how much he sucks at being a coach. Best state to recruit from and to. He should get any player he wants west of Texas! and then be able to cherry pick the rest. and he does! and still...he cant consistanly win or be in the big game. struggles in the 3rd best conference in the country Yet is considered a great coach...sorry i dont drink the koolaid

Overall, the list is pretty fair. My disagreement is with Frank Beamer. I'm not impressed with "Beamer Ball" - and Miles' coaching made him look dazed and confused on the sideline in '07.

I am sure all of those lists also look at Miles while at Michigan State. Last year hurt a lot too. To add- although I am not saynig it's true, I think lots of the pundits attribute the close late 4th quarter wins in 2007 to good fortune or luck than to Mile's as a coach. Wrong or not, that adds insult.

Correct. His turn around of a mediocre team in one year and record of 81 or so and and 9 since then, along with seven straight BCS bowls (going 6-1), seven straight seasons with at least 11 wins, two NC's, no finish lower than fourth since that single to turn that team round makes him a great coach.

Accruacy improved above.
