Then why are we #6 in the computers? Weird huh, especially since the computers, more than anything, value who you beat and your strength of schedule.

Good D + Bad O = average.

Wouldn't average be somewhere near 60th in the polls? Wouldn't average be slightly above .500 (considering FCS opponents)? Not sure how #6 in objective computer rankings is average. Oregon would give their left nut to be "average" then.

Based on what we see on the field on offense, this team is mediocre to bad.

Based on what we see on the field on offense, this team is average (Auburn game) to great (rest of the season).

Reality is that the record doesn't mean shite right now. How many wins we get is meaningless. LSU plays for titles, not just wins.

If LSU goes 10-2, 9-3, or 8-4 for 10 straight years (2008-2017) without ever winning another division title is that mediocre? To me it is.

Les is paid $$3.751 Million to win championships, not just games. If he's not going to win us championships anymore, which is what it looks like is going to be the case, then is that not mediocre?

I agree with you that this team has a ton to play for still and could end the season great, but what I've seen the last 3 years overall has shown me that Les and Co aren't championship coaches. The defense maybe, but offense not at all.

So no, 7-1 isn't mediocre, but people on both sides need to stop jumping to conclusions on a record based on wins against a ton of what now look like overrated teams.

Yeah, but it still isn't mediocre. Mediocre would be ranked around 60th in the country.

2nd tier SEC team is what we are. We are not mediocre. It seems envogue by pxlsufan and others to just accept being 2nd tier as part of our fate. I refuse to do that. I may turn out to be wrong but I believe you make your own future success. That success starts with a new head coach. The best way to prove people wrong is by winning championships not just meaningless games.

Meh, football is a results based business. How we got there is pointless once we are there.
