6 fouls in sec play 1990

Watching lsu Loyola and the announcers said in sec play they get 6 fouls. Anyone remember this? When did it change? Great game by the way.

I think that was around 1988 or so. The NCAA allowed conferences to experiment with the 6 foul rule. The SEC and Big East (not sure who else) did it but it didn't last long. Not sure why it wasn't adopted permanently.
The 80s brought two big rule changes ... 3 point line and a shot clock. Can't imagine watching a game today without those two things.

Thanks I remember moving the antenna to get reception oh how times have changed I was 9.
