Of course, but at best its a push between Bama and LSU right now.

I'm not. I'm making the point that LSU has been extremely competitive with Alabama the past two seasons even though Alabama was better.

So losing Charles Scott and Keiland Williams and Ciron Black and Brandon Lafell and Richard Dickson and Rahim Alem and Charles Alexander and Al Woods and Harry Coleman and Perry Riley and Jacob Cutrera and McCray and Hawkins is so trivial that its certain we'll be better next year.

Ridley, Ford, Shepard at RB. Dickson didn't do anything, we won't miss his non-production. Tolliver and Randle will reload the WR position. Alem and Alexander are definitely replaceable. The Linebackers will be fine next season. All Hawkins did was blow coverages his whole career and McCray will be replaced. Also Jefferson will be better as he showed improvement all season, and the O-Line will work its way back from attrition and will have more talent in the player pool.

If LSU had a 10-2 season 6-2 SEC next year, and didn't play for an SEC championship, would you be happy about that? Besides the "I won't be happy until we get a championship" stuff, Would this be proof enough to you that Miles is a good coach and the ship is not sinking?...

Gotta win the west next year, IMO. If Bama takes it three in a row, Les will actually be on the hotseat in 2011-2012.

I wish I could take you up on that bet because I would bet the house..... As long as the line improves then I think we will be playinbg for something next year

You say you wanted to show that LSU was competitive with Bama. We were because of Scott. He's gone none of these guys have proven anything.

Obviously since Dickson didn't do much D. Peterson must already be an All-American. frick experience too.

Tolliver will be good. Randle might be good, but he lacks experience and I'm not sure if he is ready to be a #2 WR.

Alem and Alexander are definitely replaceable.

None of the guys they rotated with looked like they were better. Again if these guys were so bad and starting their backups must be All-Americans right?

The Linebackers will be fine next season.

Oh since you said that I feel much better now.

Good thing Jai Eugene has never blown a coverage since he's probably replacing HAwkins

McCray was one of our best players against the run, but don't worry guys.

he O-Line will work its way back from attrition and will have more talent in the player pool.

Despite losing an All-SEC LT we will get better. Even if the backups are better and will be playing next year we will need a while to get them into working with one another.

Did you miss Ridley's touchdown run? There's no way Scott bounces it to the outside like that. He didn't do that all season.

But it's cool, you can sit there worrying now. Get your popcorn ready for next season.

I may be wrong, but I don't see anymore elite (undefeated or 12-1) seasons under Miles. I have ZERO confidence in his ability to develop players and outcoach the other SEC coaches. I feel LSU will lose 2-3 ( at least) every year while watching Bama, Ark, Aub, etc take the West for the foreseeable future.

Don't get me wrong... I like Miles. He is a good coach and a great person, but at $4 mill/ yr we need a head coach with an identity and a direction that will bring LSU back to "elite" status.....

IMO.... It's only a matter of time before Miles is fired. Problem is.... We will have to watch him go 10-2, 8-3 , etc for the next several years befor the boosters and Aleva see that if we want to win championships, a change will need to be made....

Flame away....

No. When he came here he knew what he was getting into. His job is to have LSU competing for the SEC championship every year. He doesn't have to win it every year, but we should be in the hunt.

So you don't think 10-2 will get us in the hunt for an SEC championship? We were "in the hunt" this year till the Bama game. I know the past 2 seasons 10-2 wouldn't have cut it, but historically 6-2 in the SEC puts you in the SEC championship, or at least "in the hunt". I guess it comes down to what you consider "in the hunt".

LSU almost beat

But this doesn't work the other way around, does it? If LSU barely beats a team it means LSU almost lost, not the other team did lose. I know, it's whatever makes Miles look bad.

We'll miss Sheppard and Coleman. Cutrera was the best nose guard in the country. He was just mispositioned. Nobody sucked up blockers like that guy!

We'll be alright, IF people step up like they're supposed to. Nothing guaranteed around here anymore though.
