Let it go.

I have to say the "Quick Slant" to Byrd made no sense. The DB telegraphed it and jumped the route. The endzone made the field much smaller. I would have had a jumbo package and play-actioned to Hester and hit Dickson in the endzone.
It only took you two years to come up with that play?
Someone give this man a clipboard.

I still remember my aunt running downstairs to grab some jello shots for everyone after Akransas won that game.
What did she grab after LSU beat OSU in the title game?

Yes, because Pelini's idea of defense was to sit there at the corners and let McFadden and Jones come right at them.

that game should have been over in the 1st quarter but we couldn't move the ball. They fumbled twice early on and we couldn't put the points up. Still should have won though

Put it down and walk away from it. We won the MNC that year.

:beatdeadhorse: I had almost forgotten sitting in the stands for 20 AFTER the stadium had emptied.

The worse part of it all was that I really needed to get laid after the game, and my girlfriend told me that she was too upset because we just lost our chance for the title.

I took a few xanbars shook Jim Beam's hand and forgot about more than getting laid. Matter of fact, (due to video evidence, not memory) I got lost in my hometown that's not bigger than LSU campus, went walking down the street looking for friends in a ditch, changed my clothes 4 times for no good reason, and woke up in the bed of a truck...over at the neighbors house.

At the time of that game, we had just blew the National Championship.....we just got lucky as hell to get a second chance
I agree that we had blown our shot at that point, but we really weren't lucky as hell. That's all misconception. We only needed two things to happen, Missou and WV to lose. We needed a lot more things to go our way in 03 to jump USC.
I mean, pretty much everyone knew that OU was going to beat Missou. That wasn't even an upset. The only thing we needed was for Pitt to beat WV. As soon as White got hurt in the 2nd quarter, I just knew things were going to fall our way.

The holding call on Hester.. (or was it Helms?) when he didn't even block a player.
Yea, I was at that game, that wasnt the only bogus call the referee made. They also kept calling sideline penaltys on LSU for being to close to the sideline, while Arkansas was practically hugging the field. Calls like that slowed us down. There were so many bad calls pinned on LSU in that game.

We won the BCS title. Easy to get over it.

I actually wasn't THAT upset. It was my senior year, and the first time I got season tickets. I just appreciated the fact that they played so well that season, and were still going to get a chance to play for an SEC title, something at that point that Les didn't have.
I thought we were finally on the losing end of one of those crazy games, and it sucked, but it wasn't crushed.
I still remember reading lsumatt's post about it not being over and watching it all unfold with that in mind though. Now that was great

You know, that's an interesting point. I have to agree. As we were leaving the stadium we were all speechless, and like someone said, you could hear a pindrop leaving the stadium. I happened to get stopped by the Arky buses as they were leaving and DMac walked right by me and I just shook my head. You couldn't argue that we had just seen one of the greatest players in SEC history just take over.
I felt bad for our team, but I really wasn't as bummed as I thought I'd be. I was also really pumped for a shot at the SEC title, and had no doubt I had just witnessed the most exciting LSU football season of all time. I was really proud of them.
Our crew ended up making our way to Fleming's and we all sat around and got hammered and ate a great meal and really just talked about what an amazing season it had been.
Of course, I still had hope, because like I said before, really the only thing we needed was a Pitt upset of WVU. I even said at dinner that "I'm telling you guys. If White gets dinged up, it could happen."
What a great season. Full of memories.
