False

Our routines are technically more difficult than OU's.

Stick em and LSU wins. OU typically doesn't make mistakes.

This years team is a little different compared to past ones. Where we would have years where we were almost in post season form from week one, this one has continuously build on each week and continues to improve and pick up confidence.

Vault is showing some life but we need better results from our 1 1/2s. Ruby issue this Saturday was she went for a stick and tried not to move at all, and she went backwards while off balance, never should have happened. Edwards has improved quite a bit with her vaults, so instead of under rotating, she is over rotating more so she sees way better scores. Edney and Myia need to stick or have a .05 hop at minimum.

Bars has kinda hurt us in post season for many years as OU usually separated themselves a lot on that event alone. This year its by far LSU's bread and butter. Durante is a major addition and will be an all american for us for many years on bars, she is no doubt hammered just because she is first in the lineup

Beam if LSU can hit the way they can is another story. Desiderio has been as consistent as anyone and puts up major scores. Campbell these last two weeks has had complete and phenomenal beam routine, if she does her job on the dismount last week she had a top score.

Reality is LSU will have to truly hit the day of Super Six. All that matters

I think it's going to come down to if they can stick some vaults, and hit beam flawlessly routine by routine. I do still feel like the door will have to be cracked by OU though.

I'm worried about nerves in the seniors believe it or not. Erin showed nerves on beam the last two meets. Myia has been a little inconsistent on floor lately.

Also, we will start on beam in the semifinals. I don't like that at all. Does anyone else have thoughts on that?

Last year I honestly feel like LSU's seniors kinda let us down badly. Ewing and Zamardi were disastrous to start the meet on floor and completely sucked the life out the team early and had LSU pressing for a couple rotations before we could find a rhythm.

This years freshman seem to have no nerves, they compete like upperclassmen. I am excited about that.

Well, I felt it coming to be honest. Sydney did the exact same thing in the Super Six the year before and Shea was never consistent on floor in my opinion.

Nerves are also what set OU a part from the rest. I feel like KJ must put her recruits through some type of mental test before she offers them.

I actually like that, especially because it means we finish on bars, arguably our strongest event this year. I also feel it cpuld help our vaulting to be later in the meet.

What will determine LSU's fate is how well they start. The issues the last two years are that LSU started out slow. If you are shaky to start you start to press and try to make stuff happen, and that hurts your overall performance.

If LSU starts out strong for once, they can easily win it.

LSU has not had a fast or hot start, I hope we can do that this year.

I do think OU needs to open the door a little. Mainly because they are the defending champs and they get the benefit of the doubt. If they start off as hot as they did last year then no one will be able to catch them unless they give something back somewhere and break a little momentum. LSU absolutely has to stick vault. They can not afford to give away 2-3 tenths on landings to a team like OU or even UCLA. Heck, the judges wanted to gift SECs to Florida last weekend. They need a repeat of semis last year and give the judges no choice but to give them the big score or to snub them. Leave it all out there. Ruby better be on that day.

Did you see Alex McMurtry's vault at SEC Championships ?

Pretty incredible that half the judges handed out 10's on that

She’s a phenomenal gymnast but I can’t remember anyone else who the judges insist on showering with high scores to this degree when there are obvious deductions. Beyond ready for her to move on...

There is a pretty substantial issue in college gymnastics scoring when it comes to the "Star gymnasts"

Many of these ladies were so well known from their elite careers that they were well known as they entered the NCAA level. I can even say gnat has been on the receiving end on some these nice scores at times but some in particular its an every week phenomenon

Madison Kocain, Skinner, Kayla Ross, McMurtry all continuously see very generous score compared to people not as well known. No doubt these are all phenomenal gymnasts and some of the best out there but this is clearly a problem in the way some people are scored compared to others, its not the same.

I see routines from UCLA, Florida and Utah from people who were known by many because they were just a typically level 10 gymnast, they perform some beautiful routines yet don't see the scores of what others have even with the mistakes

I just hope we can peak at the correct time this post season.

Curious if DD will put Lexie on vault come super six, I know they try so hard to manage Lexie. I have to applaud everyone because this year they did a phenomenal job with her and its allowed her to expand her contributions.

I feel like Ruby will remain the true question for LSU this post season. I honestly dont think she will be scored well on bars come super six just because its not the cleanest bars set to be honest, add that in with a inconsistent dismount of a .10 step she faces a pretty low 9.8 score. But she has to find a way to deliver on vault, she can drastically impact LSU's vault rotation score if she hits it.

I am extremely excited about what Campbell and Desiderio can do for us come post season. Campbell had a phenomenal routine these last two weeks, if she hits the dismount she had a top score for us. I do think the floor routine Desiderio performed at SEC's will be a 9.9+ score this post season.

I watched the performances in the other conference championships and IMO SEC's was by far the strictest of them all. I really think everyones team scores should have been .1 to .2 higher in score

You think Florida was scored tight at SECs? I’ve only seen all of LSU. Agreed the afternoon sessions were tight.

Performance relative to other conference scores yes the deductions were much more strict for SEC teams in our championship compared to other conference championships.

Now when it came to the afternoon session, I thought many of LSU's routines were on par if not better than some of Florida and Alabama's routines but didn't receive the same types of scores. I mean look at Finnegan's beam routine and some of Alabamas and Floridas scores. Lexie had the best routine of her entire career on bars. The pak salto was flawless, no separation whatsoever, double layout was flawless as well, no pike in it or any separation, yet all it could muster was a 9.9, its asinine.

I don't mind if judges will under and overscore teams, but be consistent for everyone, and no they were not consistent for everyone thats for damn sure

This is where I worry about Nationals. The “Big Names” will get the big numbers with subpar routines. Consistency should work in our favor, but Ruby HAS to be on. I think she is the key in the vault lineup. If she hits, good things happen.
