Will be coming from Memphis this weekend for the LA Tech game. 1st time ever in Baton Rouge. We are Tennessee fans, my 8YR old son wants to go to an LSU game for his birthday. He loves crawfish, shrimp and Cajun food. Any recommendations on how we can meet locals to tailgate with before the game? I can bring some Memphis brews to share!

If you’re not shy and offer beer, I doubt you’ll have trouble just going up to people.

You will have trouble finding crawfish at a tailgate though (boiled anyway). Shrimp maybe too.

Hope your little dude has a blast though.

Man, I think it is awesome that you are bringing your son to watch the tigers play! I would say just hang around this board as this week passes and you should get some offers and suggestions on what to do. I am not sure what we will be doing, but if I set up, yall can certainly come by my spot. I'll be here all week to chat.

ETA: wear some Tennessee stuff, as that is a really good way to strike up conversations with folks.

Awesome of you to bring your son down for a game. As others said, you can normally walk up to a tailgate, introduce yourself, offer beer, and they'll feed you &show you a good time.

We are from East TN but while we are living in Memphis we are touring the SEC West. We have always liked LSU, everyone in purple was always friendly when visiting Knoxville or Atlanta.

Smile, be friendly and say “Geaux Tigers “. No better people than LSU faithful and no better place than Tiger stadium.

Thanks for the hospitality! I was going to wear my Orange, so I should stand out. I'm sure I will hear some "tiger bait" coming my way!

Going to the game but not setting up the tailgate as we will actually be jetting back to shreveport right afterwards this weekend.....otherwise you'd have a standing invitation. Keep lurking and you will certainly receive an invite.

you too sir...enjoy the game! Geaux Tigahs!

You're picking a good one actually for a non-conference game. there has been some talk and unpleasantness among the fan bases since both schools reside in LA.

Should make for a good game..plus Tech is no slouch.

Bring beer, a smile, and a good attitude and you won't have any problem at all!
