Posted by lsusaint86 on 12/3/13 at 10:01 am00
Good Morning Everyone.
Looking at the WR current commits along with the other possible commits, does anyone believe one or two of these guys will move positions?
Current Commits:
Trey Quinn
Tony Upchurch
DJ Chark
Possible Commits:
Malachi Dupre
Speedy Noil
D'haquille Williams

Upchurch could play multiple positions

Man, noil and chark could be nasty DEs.
They could both prolly play CB too.

Upchurch could play TE, S or even OLB in Chavis's D. Chark will likely be a DB.

chark to corner... maybe a greyshirt offer if their a few other longshots wanting to jump on board.
Quinn, Noil, and Malachi will be our primary receiver targets

Quinn and Quille are all WR.
Dupre, probably so, too.
Chark could play DB, as well as Upchurch or Noil (although I think only Chark and Upchurch are in serious danger of changing positions early - Chark to CB and Upchurch, possibly to S - or OLB at some point).
And I am thinking of Devon Voorhies - he's a running QB (so was Michael Clayton) - that most project as a safety at the next level. Could he play WR?

We are losing Boone, too, right? And Leslie after next year, with Dural eligible for the draft after next year, so we may need them all at WR at some point. No telling who we sign next class, or how much of an impact they will be able to make with Jennings in just one season.

Current WRs
Avery Peterson WR Fr
Travin Dural WR Fr. (RS)
Jeffrey Lang WR Jr. (Pretty sure a walkon)
Jarrett Fobbs WR Jr.
Armand Williams WR Jr.
James Wright WR Sr.
Kadron Boone WR Sr.
O. Beckham, Jr. WR Jr.
Jarvis Landry WR Jr.
Chris LaBorde WR So.
John Diarse WR Fr.
Quantavius Leslie WR Jr.
Kevin Spears WR Fr. (Sometimes overlooked)
Lenny Breda WR Fr. (Walk on)
Luke Boyd WR Jr. TR (I literally know nothing about this kid)
I bolded the seniors/projected losses for this year, and italic some of the projected after next season.
Not ready to call Dural gone after 2014, though. We'll just have to see how that goes. Still a bunch of slots to fill in the next couple of classes (8 to 10).
