With all these flips yesterday, I’m tempted to ask about Maurice Williams

A lot of kids changed commits to other schools (not lsu though).
He was a safety commit and then decommitted.
It was stated that (speculating here) he took a visit without permission. I heard another thing or two.
Was he not as good and we backed off?
Or did he really not want to come to LSU?
I thought he was an Interst g prospect as a safety and potential linebacker.
Late eta, but I thought maybe the issue would have been swept and he could have been asked back. No source.

Kept taking unofficials after staff asked him not too. Think a lot of people knew he would trend back closer to home near the finish.

He also dropped in his rankings to a 3 star from a high 4 star.

Can't speak to what was going on behind the scenes with the staff.
But I can say that I watched him play a couple times this year, and he wasn't one of the 2 best players on his own team - those would be Jacorey Watson and Cobey Sellers (both LSU targets in '25).
He got burnt badly on a couple different plays where his technique was straight up not good.
Hope he has a nice career at UH + Willie Fritz is able to get the most out of him, but I'm pumped with Rogers + McBryde.
