But the kid says he's solid commit wise to Tennessee, right??

As Lee Corso would say.."not so fast my friend..."

Would be amazing and a great opportunity for him but I think he's a pretty solid Tenn commit.

True, but he tried to commit a couple months ago but LSU was trying to flip Moses and Allen and would not accept.

I think the staff feels he'll be easier to flip than Phillips

Depends on one's definition of solid. For me, any kid committed to one school and going on an official visit to another is not in the "solid" category.
Now I am sure there are kids who consider themselves solid in their commitment and go on recruiting trips for some free travel, to get wined and dined and get VIP treatment.
But for me those kids are less solid than the kids who shut it down and take no trips. Lets call them semi-solids.
The first rule for any sales person is to get the meet. You can tell a life insurance salesman who calls that you have a great policy your brother-in-law sold you and are not interested. He will still come see you if you will let him. Getting the meet is fundamental to sales.
Recruiting is sales. Sounds like Orgeron and LSU got a "meet" with Ignont. That's a foot in the door. Now the "solid" Tennessee recruit will see your facilities, meet his position coach and get a look at the depth chart.
I know every time one of our "solid" LSU commits takes an official visit elsewhere I worry he gets sold on another deal.
So who knows how serious Ignont is. But if he shows up, a foot is in his door.
LSU has a great sales pitch for an inside linebacker. Early playing time, learning from Aranda and probably a better shot at the playoffs than any SEC team not named Alabama.
Sales is also about percentages and the odds. The odds of flipping Ignont might not be that great. But if you bring in ten kids committed to other teams, the odds that one or two might flip are not all that bad.

Think Allen flips and we get Gay with Chaisson.

Would be shocked at Allen, but think we get Gay and Chassion.

He can stick it to Bama every year with either team...might as well join the better one.

Allen is going to flip. Ignont along with Gay would put us in very nice shape!!

Aranda > Butch hotseat with the possibility of being fired.
