Kizer would have been at LSU if Notre Dame didn't offer. That wasn't slow playing him, it was a dream offer he jumped on.

Rudolph was surprisingly unheralded by the sites. He wasn't ranked on 247 until very late in the cycle. When Harris committed, he was no longer a priority for LSU. Virginia Tech was the presumed destination when he was going to commit as they had built a lot of momentum in his recruitment, but he chose OSU which had been a leader for a while.

There were very few people on this board who wanted Rudolph over Harris, star gazers for sure. Our old buddy Memphis was a huge Rudolph advocate, I guess that's why he has some scouting job or something now.

I completely agree with you, but in shorts and a helmet, I'm sure JJ looked much better than RGIII and Wilson on pure arm talent. People forget how good he was at destrehan until miles got a hold of him.

There may be some truth to this. It seems like JJ's best game at LSU was the Peach Bowl his freshman year against GA Tech. I think that was his first start, but I'm not 100% sure.

dude ... this was the same coaching staff that RGIII, Tyler Wilson and Jordan Jefferson at the same camp, and chose only to offer JJ.

To be fair, recruiting is educated guesswork. "Talent evaluation" is an inexact science and recruiters will always strike out more than they hit homeruns because you can only sign ~25 to a class—every other player goes to a different school. I mean, who woulda thought that Matthieu would've been such a big time football player?

Except when it came to the QB postion, it seemed his staff struck out almost every single time... but that was mostly due to non development and a terrible philosophy on passing.

He actually started the Arkansas game before that. He took over for Lee midway through the OM game before that when Lee went down.

They basically just let JJ play in that Peach Bowl, which is why he looked good. Kinda like when Harris tore it up against MSU and NMSU. Once they tried to get both to play "Miles' Way," it was over.

Oh, and what about that quarterback from Miss St. that's now doing a pretty good job in Dallas. He was gonna be the most underutilized TE in college football had he come to LSU. You know that Prescott kid!!

But, but the TD Recruiting Board says that all recruits are paid big money to go to a school and no one has a dream school they simply want to play for. It is only about the money. Not sure I can believe this.

Les/Cam have no clue what a good QB looks like. It's painfully obvious to everyone.

We haven't had an offensive coach that could develop a qb since Jimbo. Wouldn't matter who we had signed. Rudolf, Kizer, whoever. Hopefully Canada can do that
