Same here. But to be fair there's a lot more and less competition in socal, heck my wifes family lives there now. I've been plenty of times, it is a great place. Going again this summer. Cannot blame Young at all tbh

Early on we wanted Young. We offered his teammate and signed him with hopes Young would follow (Duke). Then we got a commitment from a 5 star all everything from up north in Clifton Garrett. We backed off Young after locking up Garrett. Young could go anywhere in the country. He was not going to entertain a school that slow played him. To this day Kennys recruitment kills me. You do not back off or slow play a Kenny Young. Beckwith and Young would have been amazing.

And sadly although this current recruiting staff is amazing, they still haven't learned the lesson to NOT cater to demands of a HS player. We need to recruit guys who "have a want" to be Tigers and "have the chest" to compete once they are here. Especially when it comes to NEED positions (currently QB, LB, and DL). Going all in on one (ex's: Garrett vs. Young, or Franks alone) is MUCH too detrimental when that one can still back out before the 1st Wed in Feb (Franks) or flame out before 4 or 5 years (Garrett, LMFAO, Valentine, etc).
