of course not. i mean, compared to two schools that have won 4 of the last 6 NC's, and coaches like nick saban, spurrier, meyer, miles, petrino etc, pretty much everyone would rather play for lane kiffin.
You are exactly right that MOST kids would rather play for those coaches rather than a first year guy like Kiffin.
Unfortunately, Myles, JJ, and Richardson were the few who didn't. Surely this isn't the first time you've seen this. Miles, Saban, Weis, B Davis landed a few quality players like UT in their first years on the job. Hell, Auburn out recruited us this year and UT had the #6 class in the nation when Fulmer was fired. So why is this typical behavoir such a big deal when Lane Kiffin assembles a staff full of recruiters and does it at UT???? It was actuality a disappointing class until we got JJ. Considering what they started with when they took over, Miss State and Auburn both did better jobs than Kiffin. You refuse to open your eyes b/c the recruits in question were two you thought you would get.
It isn't a big deal that Chizik, like kiffin had success as an OC but failed as a HC at a terrible program, was able to land many 4 stars and NSD surprises. And it doesn't matter that Mullen, who like kiffin had success as an OC, put together an impressive class his first year on the job at MS State. But we will credit them guys for what they done b/c the recruits they got weren't highly coveted by LSU.
And where your logic failed considerably was your inability to look at more than just the coach. UT has had far greater success than every team in the SEC except Bama and was the last team besides LSU and UF to win a NC. Kids know the tradition at UT and they see the money and committment they are making to the program. You got coaches in your "elite class" that are at Arkansas, Ole Miss, and SCAR whose school hasn't won a NC ever or in 40 years. Why did you think UT paid its assistants so much, to not be able to recruit? So why the hell are you surprised that they can???

Seriously? Not even the same coaches as when they won their NC. Even Fulmer had more brains than Kiffin. He KNEW the rules and when to keep his mouth shut.

Isnt there some kind of Lying and Cheating convention you should be at where Kiffin is speaking today?
Or to dummy that down for you..No one gives a shite about your orange tainted opinion here.

Did a Tenn fan just compare Randle to Kelly freaking Washington? When Randle becomes Larry Fitzgerald and Lane Kiffin is a receivers coach at Valdosta St. and Orgeron is yelling at a legislative hearing on the effects of steroids in athletic departments, come back and join the discussion douche.

Celebrate, UTanner.
When you reap what you have sown by playing dirty, don't cry. Celebrate then as well.
This is not the Pac-10.

Seriously Vol,
Just make sure your team doesn't go on probation anytime soon. Your coach obviously doesn't know any of the rules so who knows when he will get caught.

RR will never have 3 TDs and 150 against UT like Kelly Washington did against LSU when he broke the UT record. And just so you know, he put up around 250 that game so I highly doubt RR will ever do that. Well, at least not going to give him credit for it until he steps on the field. Thats where that came from.
If you have had hair under your arms for more than 5 years I'm sure you remember that game.
And yes, it was 2001 and you later beat us in the SECCG and cost us a shot at the NC. I was at that game, still pissed about Stallworth and Matt Mauck, and credit that loss to the demise of UT football. So congrats, all of this is b/c of LSU in a way.

UTanner, I am old enough to remember Kelly Washington. Had a great game against us running straight up the sidelines and makeing over the shoulder catches. Made it look pretty easy that night against an outmanned LSU secondary. Whatever happened to him?
Tennessee may get back, but after seeing some video footage of your coaching staff bragging about their recruiting exploits in front of that booster group, I couldn't help but honestly think "is this really what Tenn wants representing them?". I also thought how far the mighty have fallen. They'll be able to recruit them because recruiting is unfortunately a dirty behind the scenes business, that allows Orgerons of the world to succeed. And yes we recognize his recruiting ability as we tried to get him. But we were truly worried about his tactics and we were only looking at getting one. Tenn got three! Now, what we were really worried about was could Ed coach. It seems that you will have three or four to worry about. We'll all be curious to see.

I will admit that I was a little embarassed that Kiffin didn't know the rules. If you watched the video, it is really embarassing because he says "in case you don't know, that is a violation.." He was trying to educate them and he looked like a dumbass. I think he's young and cocky and I am certain he will be humbled in 2009. If he doesn't, he is going to be scrutinized and eventually get us in some kind of trouble. But I'm pretty sure Monte and the AD are telling him to slow his roll.
In almost any enviornment, making waves is usually good. But making too many waves pisses people off and will bite you in the butt. We've made our waves, and there will be some things to watch for in 09. If he's smart, he will now focus on the things that make the team better.

If I'm a taint then that would make Brageus an arse and you a PUSSY tigerwoody. I would rather be neither those things anyway.....
Kelly Washington plays special teams for Pats and is hated by most Vols fans for being the all-time prima donna. I agree with what you say. It would be nice if he knew the F'KING RULES!

I guess we traded one douche for another. We got Tubby out, but now have Kiffin to deal with. Satan, Oscar Meyer and now Kiffin. It is going to be fun in the SEC. I don't think Kiffin will last.
