they are granting an extra year of eligibility if seasons aren’t played/finished? What a mess

Yeah I was thinking the same thing maybe they’re going to have to expand the roster instead of 85 maybe add 15-25 spots for a year and drop back down or whatever

Like you said it’s a mess

OSU HC is an idiot and he proved it today by saying he wanted to start a season in January and play 8-9 weeks. The temps dont come out of freezing until mid April there lol you will not play 8 weeks then have 2 months until your next season begins, basically never stopping until the break in 2022. A 6 month injury could cost a player 2 years of eligibility. The draft would be going on in the middle of their 'season'. There is just no logical way to have a 2020 season in the spring of 2021.

Only seniors, with low to no NFL likelihood will really be getting extra eligibility. The top guys will sit out or leave anyway.Everyone else is getting a defacto redshirt year. On the other hand, all kids are also gaining a year of being eligible for the NFL draft so expect a huge influx of RS soph early entrants in 22. Stingley for instance would only play 2 years here if something happens to the season. Many others will be the same. Seeing as most schools have to "cut" in order to get down anyway, it's not really a factor for most power 5 schools. 1 year of about 15-20 "extra" kids that will be gone the next. The staffs will adjust needs and such based on whos around afterwards for the 22 class

Awhile true about players like Stingley etc, what about teams like Florida State and Miss St or Ole Piss, who are good but not great?
