It wasn't one thing, it was a continual stream of pro-Bama posts going back to September.

Stop worrying about Robinson.

Whats going on with Valentine? A couple people on 247 changed their crystal ball selection to LSU even though he's still listed as committed to ThugU.

Word is that he's all U if his grades are good enough to get him in, but if they're not, he's a Tiger.

Picking him is admittedly a stretch and I think Kenny Young would make more sense, but for some reason the staff just isn't publicly looking his way. Who knows what's up behind the scenes but it doesn't look like he's coming to LSU

A Lot is up behind the scenes.

#1 Malik McDowell SDE, #1 Lorenzo Carter WDE

Based on recent very positive Haley in home visits which always emphasize that the NFL rosters are stacked with LSU players, both recruiting candidates have upcoming OVs and in homes with Miles. For both men academics, winning, tradition, and the school that wants them the most and can offer the best chance of success academically/graduation and highest probability of being drafted in the NFL will be (LSU) the school they choose. I am convinced the coaches think they will land them. This Board and the other recruits also have a job to do. With the buzz generated by the quality of our class of commits and imminent commits and the overt enthusiasm, confidence, and leadership of recruits like CGIII(maybe the best MLB ever) and Paris, who are outstanding recruiters, Carter and McDowell are very high probability commits, having dropped prior favorite OVs to come here. Carter's video made a few days ago shows very high interest in LSU "because we put DEs in the league" and sold his family. Since the Tide took Da'Shawn Hand he has apparently dropped them. He said LSU was always in his top 5 and now top 3 or higher with his OV, Miles visit, and meeting the other recruits yet to come. He also plays basketball, his prior #1 sport, is an engineering major (LSU is where I got my bio-engineering degree and it was 1st class) and both he and McDowell have elite size and speed: MM 6-7/290 4.70, LC 6-5/232 4.63. Both are #1 in their states and #2 nationally at their positions. McDowell 2 weeks ago had Bama #1 before uncertainty amongst Tide recruits. He reminds me of CGIII, because until he visited the SEC he wanted to play up North, admittedly not fond of heat and humidity. As a longtime former Alaskan, I can identify with that. Both are thinking LSU means NFL and NCs and we are thinking with their help, you bet.

#1 Malik McDowell of Michigan and #1 Lorenzo Carter of Georgia could join LSU's growing list of top OOS talent. Academically and physically they are a perfect pair of defensive elite ends to add to what has become an imminent Super-Elite Recruiting Class. Both are scholar athletes, academics first, tradition, winning, seeking chance to play for LSU's fabled defense that puts linemen and backs in the NFL like they grow on trees: NFL rosters are stacked with former LSU players. With their elite height, strength, size, and explosive speed, they would mesh perfectly with a star-studded DBU of quick read, gap shooting ball hawk missiles, converging on the ball handler with force, crushing and demoralizing opposing offenses. McDowell and Carter have elite pass rushing skills, so our blitzes, sacks, tackles for loss, forced fumbles, turnovers, and interceptions stats will skyrocket from the basement to above our best years. Academics, tradition, winning, and whoever wants them the most and oh yeah LSU DL/DBUs and the NFL have that thing going on. Miles and Haley & Co have been on them for months, under the radar, great in home visits from Haley resulted in upcoming OVs and Miles visits, meantime the recruit/recruiters CGIII, Paris, and the covert Jan 2 crowd and signing day crowd need to go to work on reeling them in.
