Pretty clear Anthony and Moore are not prime talents. With Chaisson out, Divinity has had to provide the only semblance of a pass rush from the OLB spot. Anthony and Moore are non-existent.
Even with Chaisson coming back and Divinity showing some pass rushing ability, we have to have depth at that spot.
Moffitt isn't going to turn Anthony or Moore around in a year.

I’m about as out of loop in the recruiting tidbits as I’ve ever been, but is Marcel Brooks not that pass rushing OLB?

Guy is a freak. He’s like Von Miller athletically.

How is he not a top 10 overall recruit?

hes only 200lbs, it would take at least 2 years to put 50-60lbs on him...

I'm fine with what we have next season if Chaisson comes back healthy. Gives Brooks time to get in the weight room.

50-60 pounds?

Nah

What you think divinity weighs? Or Chaisson, in-shape Key.

Those guys are like 235

Brooks needs like 25 lbs, not 50-60.

Sad thing is when Sullivan was in high school he was a stud de. Would have been an awesome pass rusher with his height and speed.

There is a shortcut that could do it in about 6 months.

Just sayin'...

50-60 pounds? What the hell, lol. He’s big, but skinny. He possesses a lot of pass rush ability. Had 20 sacks last year, because of his speed off the edge. He’ll get to probably 225. He can really kind of do it all so we will see how we utilize him.

WHat if he puts on 25-30 lbs and isn’t the same caliber athlete? Ideally brooks plays in the box as a safety, and in that F linebacker role. The guy leading the team in sacks is doing that at 200 lbs

We absolutely need more athleticism on the edge, and I think Myron Warren can be a guy that adds that. He’s got the speed to play the outside and is already 230.

Well if he’s just sitting around eat cheeseburgers, yeh

But this is an 18 year old. He’s going to add weight naturally just as he matures. Throw him in a college S&C program, and 10-15 pounds is nothing.

I’ll say it again, I find it hard to believe there are 10 better prospects in the country than Marcel Brooks.

I think the JUCO Williams who is a commit to Ole Miss visited for the Alabama game. Kid has about 16 sacks in 7-8 JUCO games. I'd take him and process Anthony and Moore.

Yea I have. He’s every bit of his 6’3 230 listed size. I wouldn’t be suprised if he’s even bigger than that. He’s fast, probably the fastest guy on his teams defense which says a lot considering he towers over everyone and has as much muscle as he does. The game I watched he didn’t get many pass rush opportunities, but he still lived in the back field and chased down the other teams running back from behind a few times. I’m not sure if he is going to be a legit speed rush OLB, but I certainly think Aranda can find a role to play someone with that kind of athleticism and size
