I haven't looked at all the top WRs from Louisiana yet, but he is the only one I want so far from here. Also the guy from Florida.
Tyron has top shelf speed and is dangerous after the catch. What I like is that he's also strong and seems to have full body control. Not on the level of Landry, bu really good.

My question is will the next QB be as creative in the aTm offense as JM was?
Look at Sumlin's numbers at Houston on offense and what Case Keenum did.
The guy has a wide open offense. I'm not sure why people think it's not a WR friendly offense.

Just move on to the next blue chip. LSU can do that. I think we've learned that as much as these Louisiana kids leave the state, LSU has the capability to land OOS kids without much of a problem.
I don't know why you got downvoted. Maybe the truth hurts but I agree 100%. The staff can't do anything about the way these in-state kids feel about LSU. Having been near LSU their whole lives, if they aren't feeling LSU by now, then there's nothing the staff can do. I would much rather have a slightly lower rated OOS guy that would love the opportunity to be a Tiger.
And that's what this is about. It's not about trying to twist people's arms into doing something they aren't sold on. Those are the types that will string LSU along then go OOS anyway. It's about getting the guys that want to be here without a doubt. Some think we should show favoritism to in-state guys, that's BS. Show favoritism to those that want to be at LSU.

If he goes to A&M how much trash will Kevin Toliver talk to him?

The one thing this guy doesn't have and I'm sure that it can be taught, is body positioning. Most of the time on these jump balls that he's grabbing the DB isn't looking and Tyron just jumps and shits all over the dude. It won't be that easy in college. The great WR have good body positioning, I think it's something you have or you don't not sure if it can be learned because it seems like something that would be instinctual. If he gets with a good coach this dude is extremely dangerous. I've never seen a team block a WR screen so bad and be SO successful with it.

Everyone around here is just going to have to accept that alot of kids with Noil's and Johnson's skillsets are going to want to play in Sumlin's offense.
It is what it is.
I have no idea why you are getting so many downvotes for that. I said that it was going to be harder getting some recruits here because of TAMU moving in a playing well last year. They are already looking like WR heaven for kids who want to play SEC ball.
It really doesn't matter because we have a surplus of D1 talent and that position, and we neither take or want all those guys. Like I said, we need only two WRs for the 2015 class, MAYBE a third for depth purposes.

I don't either. They'll downvote, but won't comment.

And Miles really doesn't like that type of offense from what I garner. Cameron had the offense more open then it's ever been with Mettenberger and Beckham and Landry putting up ridiculous numbers. Then Miles has him change it midway through the season to a more ball control ground and pound attack.

I agree. Similar to how Texas' top flight DBs want to play for teams that are known for their DB play.
I want this guy in LSU's class, but I don't believe he is an absolute must get with Quinn and Dupre coming in.

While Sumlins offenses do put up great numbers, it is a system and NFL folks do realize that. That is why Case Keenum is the NCAA yardage record holder and had to sign free agent. It is the same reason Sumlins wideouts really havent made a splash in the league. Sumlins most notable former WRs are Donnie Alexander, Patrick Edwards, and maybe Ryan Broyles from OU. So while Sumlins offense does put up big stats, it does not translate to most NFL playbooks, which is why his wideouts are not really highly drafted guys. Sumlin has a different route tree than NFL teams and his playbook is nothing like what guys run in the pros. So while I understand a kid wanting to put up big stats, Sumlins wideout track record isnt as great as people claim it to be.

Any top receiver is a must get imo. They roll in and out if they are successful early on like Beckham and Landry were this past season. You wanna stock up all you can because you can't account for injuries, disicpline problems, etc.

Case Keenum wasn't drafted because of his skill set not because of the offense he played in. But he's proven them wrong now by startin at Houston.

If Johnson came to LSU, he would be a Sammy Watkins type of game changing wideout, but he would become a very polished wideout in the process. I know why kids love Sumlins offense, but it really isnt what it is hyped to be in translation to the league. I grew up in Houston and have seen Sumlins offense for many years. I just cant stand how people claim it to be this league producing wideout machine when it isnt.

Sumlin's offense has looked pedestrian against Lsu the last two years with a heisman qb and first round wr. Rather them go to A&M than Bama.
Posted on 2/8/14 at 11:59 am to mkibod1
I understand your frustration. But 18 to 20 year old kids are gonna love playin in those type of offenses always. The Texas Techs, Baylor's, and OSU's will always get the nod along with A&M. They sling the ball and top WR"s comin out of HS love that shite!

I think I would rather him come to LSU

That's simple! They kept Johnny Football in the box. Not let him escape and make plays like he's used to doing. He escapes he hurts you.

I've never said that it was a league producing machine.
Sure, kids want to go to the League, but they also want to enjoy the system they're in. It's a preference. It's not JUST about going to the league.
