Quinn breaks national record
WR Trey Quinn (Lake Charles, La./Barbe) -- LSU commit: Quinn totaled 216 receiving yards and three touchdowns on nine receptions. The No. 36-ranked player in the country also added two rushes for 50 yards and another touchdown in a 42-16 win on Friday.
With his performance, Quinn broke Dorial Green-Beckham’s two-year old record for all-time receiving yards in a career with 6,396. The previous record by Green-Beckham was 6,356.
Barbe advanced in the playoffs with the win on Friday, and Quinn now has a chance at breaking the national record for receptions in a career. He needs only 12 more receptions to tie the mark of 358 receptions.
Barbe received several congratulations from several teammates and fellow LSU commits on Twittter — including this tweet from 2015 cornerback commit Kevin Toliver (Jacksonville, Fla./Trinity Christian).
Congrats to my future teammate @LA_Quinn18 for breaking the national high school career receiving yards last night #TigerNation #LSU
