How are we supposed to build continuity with recruiting classes when you lose so many players?

Look at what is left from the 23 class.

Looks like will need to get 12-15 players in the Transfer Portal every year to maintain depth etc.

Not sure why some of our players leave when they will start next season, is it really better NIL?

Because they were backups on a 8-4 mediocre team.

It’s repeated so much it’s basically a trope at this point but if they weren’t starting or getting playing time on this years team, specifically the defense, they probably don’t like the idea of their position being a main focal point.

There’s a reason our QB threw 10 ints in a game and nobody subbed in. Same reason Gilbert and Sage never got benched. The people behind them were not a better option.

At some point it does become a problem to lose large quantities of players after one year...

The major problem was when they allowed unlimited transfers with no repercussions. Put money aside for a bit, what if you knew you had to sit out for a year when you transferred? Half of this ish would be cut out.

A freshman who couldn't get on the field his first year would automatically sacrifice another year of no field if he left. What if in that time that they were idle a kid emerged? You can't transfer again because you'd lose another year. In this case it would make way more sense to graduate in 3 years and if you aren't basically a lock for a position, you're free with no drawbacks to transfer as a 4th year.

The old way would have been much better even with NIL.
