Pass rushers are so important.
The majority of the best athletes in the state are WR, so you need to go convince some of them to bulk up and rush the passer!
I expect to see your report on your success on this board in the next few months.

We have guys that can rush the passer from the LB spot. We need guys that can rush the passer from the DE spot. Preferably some guys a little under 300 lbs with some speed.

Who are these legit 2 in Baton Rouge? Tongue is playing WR at UGA and Harris is a Middle linebacker.

Cherry is a edge rusher. He needed a year to put on weight. He will be a good one. He was a 4 star last year as I recall

Harris and Constantine...both are LBs

Neither are edge rushing olb. More mlb or wlb. If we want to claim we missed on those guys as edge rushers then we can claim Brooks and Starks as the same. Harris was a cb in hs. How does that translate more than what we have.

Don't forget Constantin...6'2.5" height.
They all three have the athleticism, speed and frame to put on weight and be a speed pass rusher from the OLB/WDE position in a 3-4 defense...but, they did not want to stay on LSU's campus another 3-4 years and our staff could not convince them otherwise.

I haven't seen much from these OLBs that can rush. Sure Divinity and Anthony flashed but not enough. Most if our best rush came from White or Delpit. Hell Stevens showed more in the last few games than some of the guys we recruited to do it. Point is we should take one every year and we didn't this year.
Comparing Brooks' frame to Keys is just strange. Key is 6'6, Brooks 6'3. Big difference. Also why wouldn't Brooks have added bulk thus far? He's not an edge rusher. Sure he can rush but not gonna beat OL once they get ahold of him. Means disguising blitzes to get him completely free. We have to be able to pressure with 4, sometimes 3.

Every time someone asks about this blaring need of a true pash rush WDE/OLB...I'll be here...reminding you all that this was a recruiting fail, this staff owns it! Until they fill it...they have until February...hope is not lost, they can recover.
But overall, this is an outstanding class...no doubt about it if, if we land Sopsher…and very possibly, even if we miss on him too.
2020 will be awesome for DTs and LSU...
