Chad Jones was so awesome. I remember thinking he was going to be Landry 2.0

What class had Xavier Carter in it? It may have been Doucet and Dorseys class.... that was first one I followed closely. Thought Xavier Carter would have 20 rec TDs his freshman year....
Yep he was in that 2004 class along with Chevis Jackson, Curtis Taylor, Claude Wroten, Herman Johnson. I'm pretty sure it was a big deal at the time to get doucet and carter because they were the top 2 receivers in that class.
X carter. Lol.
I remember the state game his freshman year when he caught a curl or dig route or something like that and turned and just left everyone behind. It looked like a video game. I thought he was the fastest human being I'd ever seen in pads.

The 2001 class got me hooked to recruiting.i still consider that the GOAT class. They were the trailblazers that made coming to LSU cool. Also started this golden era.
Same here. I started out on ESPN.

1977, when we beat Bear Bryant for Brother Martin LB Marc Ippolito, a consensus Blue Chipper and number 1 player in the State.

Since, I was not born yet. How did that turn out James?

Marc was a disappointment to be honest. He stayed all four years, but wound up as a DL. As a HS SR he was a 6'4 220lb tackling machine in Bobby Conlin's Split 40 Defense. One of the most highly recruited players in NOLA history.

Benjy Thibodaux was highly recruited and Marcus Quinn was our first St Aug signee. Bob Lane was a QB from Monroe who transferred to NELA and played in the USFL. Lyman White was a DE that played for the Falcons. Hokie Gajan was a very good Tailback who wound up being a fullback for the Saints. He was unstoppable at Baker High. Jude Hernandez from Istrouma was a hard nosed tailback too.
