The boyz at Cocky don’t know about the “Bama bump” they don’t quite understand that if there is a possibility of a recruit going to LSU or Auburn and they are highly ranked, by the end of the cycle they will need to be adjusted so Bama doesn’t lose their self awarded recruiting title every year! lol

“ No matter where he goes, I don’t get it. So he was considered to be an Uber atheltic defensive end who was fast and agile. That he could go down the field as a receive yada yada on and on. Now he is Refefined as a DT and drops. Well if he is this Uber great DE and that ability is now defined to a position that is not required to have as much athleticism why would he not sky rocket to the top instead of drop. Just literally makes no sense to me.”

They got to get their fans to create a recruiting site, like Bama did, then they can use excuses like, he fits their defense scheme, so he’s a 5 star, etc....

Although I agree Bama gets special treatment, LSU came out good with the final rankings this year. Probably bc we won the Natty

He’s worth 13pts to them because they suck. He’s a solid 7pts for LSU because of the other 4-5stars in our class.

It really is a dumb system.

Knowing all this, if you can crack the top 5 and you're not bama, you may actually have the best recruiting class in the country. Now, if you are bama, you should worry if you fall out very far.

We all know this. Winning the recruiting rating battle is not really relevant. Do we fill are needs and are we generally top five top ten in talent acquisition each year. Which we have been.

We did get out of wack with high rated classes that did not address needs in the last four or five years of Miles tenure. Does not matter now.

We are at Bamas level roster wise now after this class. We do need a premier QB in our next class. Although Brennan Parrish Johnson and Finley are a pretty decent QB room.. much better than we have had in the last decade.

Whatever.

Yeah, I've made too many posts on this subject and I admit it...having said that, one more

I'm sure the Math professors are hyped up about Gaussian distribution/Bell curve, etc. It has SQUAT to do with talent ratings...SQUAT! As you said, a player should be worth EXACTLY the same no matter the team. Anything obtuse like "oh, he would have to be doubled teamed" or "he would fit into their scheme"...100% CRAP! My own belief is this was instigated to HIDE the fact that they wanted to make arbitrary judgments on points that was NOT objective. And if anyone doesn't believe there is a "bama bump", I have some great waterfront property in the desert I want to offer you. If Alabama moves up one year at the end and down one year at the end, that is random. When year after year, their movement is ALWAYS UP, that means you start looking for magnets under the routette wheel. That is a SCIENTIFIC FACT!

Understand an emergency meeting has been called at 247! Georgia just got a low 4* RB commit but it was enough to push them ahead of Alabama. So despite all the rumors that supposedly everybody has their final ratings in, not so! Somehow they must "recalibrate" to make sure little Nicky regains #1 !
