"Now, temper your expectations. He's going to be good, but Moore is our offense. Don't expect him to get the ball much here. We'll get it to him, but not like everyone is expecting."

I think the context of this quote should be noted. When Talton ended up at RO, most people (including opponents) probably expected RO to begin and end with Talton. If you key on Talton, you stop RO. I can't speak for what the former OL now coach said, but Coach Hannah was determined not to make the entire RO offense all about Talton. This was not because Talton came from WM but, moreover, because he wanted to make the RO offense multi-dimensional and not reliant on just one person. Opposing defenses would not have to just worry about Talton...but also Moore...and MacGregor...and even a few others as well. Your entire offensive approach may have been to give the ball to Talton on every single play, but the RO coaches took a different approach. Any good coach would take this approach.

All this being said, Talton is by far RO's leading rusher. He catches passes. He blocks for other players. He plays special teams. He returns kicks. I think they have done a good job of using all the talents that Talton gives them. They have had a great year. They won district. They may win state. Its difficult to bash those coaches.

I really don't care about all this WM-Monroe stuff. I don't live there. I like the WM Rebels. I like the Neville Tigers. I also admire what the RO Mustangs have accomplished. There is no doubt that WM is at the top level of HS football. Still, I hate to hear someone piss all over something else just because they feel the need to thump their own chest. The reference to some of these players as "fricking scrubs" annoys me. After observing practice, I can say that there is some top quality coaching and fundamental instruction occurring at RO. Some people just need to find something to hate on.

I understand some of you WM fans feel the need to "look after one of your own" or something to that affect. Don't worry because there is no need. Talton is having a great year.

Thats it. I can't believe I cared enough to discuss any of this in the first place. I do admire the passion the exists for football in NE LA. I suppose that is because there is nothing at all to do in that fricking shitpit!

There ya go. Anyone wants to hate on something, hate on me for that.

good post... And yes talton is having a great year. He loves his teammates and they love him. His facebook picture is of him and Vincent. I really wish they would have had more games together without injury... Can't wait to follow these guys as they progress to the college level. Best of luck to the both of them.

There is NO excuse for him to not touch the ball EVERY play.

This is foolish... He isnt a back that can carry the ball 35 times a game. He isnt made for that. and You apparently havent watched too many of the playoff games in which Tashadi has been the main part of our offense. He was hurt through out a good portion of the year so he didnt get as many touches as expected so he could be ready for the playoffs.

quote:

He is the best athlete River Oaks has ever had.

He is as good of a football player as Vincent Moore. They are both great athletes and both would have complemented each other well during the season. Vincent would have gotten to play more wr and tashadi would have been running out of the back field more. The reason why the offense was 'built around vincent more' was because he dictated our passing game. He was a dominate wr that dictated the defense. Tashadi at 5'9 is not as accomplished of a wr than vincent at 6'1 because in the 40 they have the same speed.
There is a reason Vincent got an offer from ULL after they just say his workout. Vincent is a great athlete and this is not taking away anything from Tashadi. TT is a great back and even if vincent hadn't gotten hurt, TT prbly would have lead the mustangs in rushing.

who fricking cares who wins or who doesn't? Neville has to compete with 3 schools for kids, West Monroe is the only school in that shite hole of a town. I'm betting you watch WM highlight films every night

Was I talking to you? No, unless you are a Nevilleite! Now that I think about it you sound like a Neville-elite!

River Oaks had alot of great backs and didnt need to give the ball to him on every snap I'm sorry. Your feelings are hurt because you completely disrespect the athletes that are in the MAIS and think everyone else is garbage and thats a load of bullshite. Talton is a great player and played special teams and had his fair share of carries later in the season when they needed him. His overall production was similar to when he played at WM and this offends you which it shouldn't. He is a great player but great players dont win championships...great teams do and that is what RO had.

his highlights dont look like he completely got the shaft last year. He might not of had 10000 yards all purpose but thats a you problem..the league he played was not as bad as you make it out to be and your expectations were ridiculously high thinking that he was the only player RO had...completely false.
