We were not RBBC at all last year. By strayed, I meant from the prior 2 years.

LSU really hasn't been RBBC anytime soon

we find a starter, he gets the bulk of carries

2007: hester
2006: keiland (took a long time to find him)
2005: addai
2004: alley
2003: JV (took a while to find him)

yeah that description makes sense. RBBC until someone gets in the groove and hopefully someone takes charge.

Last year was not the same though. Part of that was that we were playing behind and had a D2 level qb, but also we seemed intent on running through brick walls when it wasn't working

RBBC and let the hot hand carry the load. That's how it should be done, I think.

EDIT: Where did that goal line misdirection pitch go btw?

well we never really run RBBC

but scott wore down, keiland actually ran well (even between the tackles), and scott still dominated carries

i didn't get it

What don't you get? He trucked Auburn, Georgia, Alabama in 1st half, Troy, etc. We wouldn't have even been competitive in those games without him.

Bama: 2.8 ypc
Troy: 3.8 ypc
Miss: 1.0 ypc
Arky: 2.3 ypc

yeah scott DEFINITELY didn't wear down at the end of the year

Well, you want to point out good runs by Keiland, but fail to point out the times he tiptoes into the line, or the times when he runs away from the defense and loses yards when he could put his shoulders down and get the tough yards. That is why he doesn't get more carries. Do any of you remember the goal line carry where all he had to do was square his shoulders and run through a DB, but he ran to the sidelines? (I don't remember what game, but it was WEAK).

He has talent, but he is not agile enough to be a speed guy ala Reggie Bush, and does not use his power and size to his advantage. He has the body to be a star, but runs like a 180 pounder who is too stiff.

Never said he didn't, SFP. Just saying that LSU had no other alternatives bc Scott was by far the best thing they had going on offense. Keiland simply isn't close to Scott as a RB.

Come again?

CS seperated himself a bit last year, but to say it isnt close is just not right. In fact KW ran better in the last few games when it was apparent we had NO passing game and the run was hard to come by.

"A bit". You really think Keiland could beast Aubrun on the road like Scott did?

Keiland gets some change of pace carries at the end of the year. That's far from being a bellcow like Scott was, or like Hester was.

Hey SFP and others, this article says Storm has a personal best of 10.7 in the 100M. Told you Storm can run for a big dude, suck it!

not when he was running sub 3.0 ypc against BCS competition

go look up keiland's ypc late in the year

Storm is still 16 years old. 16. He isn't close to being the player he can be . Great field vision, knows how to use his blockers, keeps his legs driving, does not go out of bounds and runs over defensive backs. And yes he is still 16 years old.

I was saying they had no alternatives earlier in the year, when he was the only thing they had going for them on offense.

It's much easier to put up good YPC when your carries are sparse, or when the defense has worn down (Scar game), like Keiland's were. He simply isn't close to as good as Scott. He doesn't hit the hole as hard, he doesn't run as aggressively. The only thing he's better at is maybe making guys miss when he's 40 yards downfield, which is going to be rare.
