I think ZL signing means that SR will not redshirt, but will be played in a package series throughout his freshman series to get him ready for 2012.
Similar to how the staff brought RP along, to the point he was ready to start and win the SECCG.

It has already been stated that the 3rd string will see garbage time. So yes he prob wont be redshirted unless he isnt the 3rd string qb next year.
