No they weren’t. Murray State had a lower NCAA tourney seed, lower in KenPom, etc. Neither team made it out of the first weekend in the tournament

Based on what? They were a good team who beat the hell out of subpar competition. They beat one major conference team this season before the tournament. They were rated below LSU in the main analytics rating system (KenPom).

If they were all told scholarships would not be renewed, they would have all entered the portal at the same time instead of a couple this day and a couple that day. Plus they are kids and someone would have bashed LSU on social media over that.
