Don't know if we offered or not. Here's the skinny from another board.

quote:

Got word today on the DS situation. Chavis and Haley were asked to look over the info we have on DS to make sure we are making the right decision on offering him or not. They confirmed that an offer is not warranted yet based on his grades, work ethic concerns, and already having Davenport and Downs committed but thought a visit couldn't hurt.

We asked him to take an official last week and he said he would think about it. It appears that DS now claiming it was an official offer (he assumed the same earlier this year as well) and reporting to Bama papers that he was offered but he is not taking anymore visits.

I think he is making the right choice by not taking a LSU visit because I don't think it would have done much for him in terms of getting an offer and I wish him luck at Bama.

Either way, I'm sure his pride took a beating from not receiving an offer from us early on. Hope he makes his grades and succeeds on the field (except against us) and in life.

Reports from both sites are saying LSU extended an offer to the kid and invited him for an official visit. Some fans are just in denial.

I saw an offer on Scout, but not on Rivals. Hey though, if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I have no idea if we offered. But look......I can post rolley eye faces too.

That brings up a good question though. How do recruiting sites determine offers? Can they just go by what the recruit tells them or does it have to come from the school too?

Just saw on scout where we offered. My bad..wasn't listed on his profile. I'm still curious about my earlier question though.

The only people saying that LSU offered Sentimore is Sentimore. Nuff said. Why the heck would LSU supposedly offer this kid now in the 11th hour when we are still trying to figure out how we can sign who we have plus who we expect to get.

I wish the guy luck and hope he qualifies but LSU is set at DT and VERY happy with the guys we got, both of whom are qualfified and solid kids.

And the only people saying LSU hasn't offered Sentimore is angry LSU fans on message boards. Who should I believe?

Well, we snubbed him so I'm guessing he has the stronger agenda.

Again, how does Rivals/Scout/ESPN report their offer lists? Does it take more than just the recruit saying "they offered"?

Sentimore said early in the process he would wait for an LSU offer. LSU was his dream school and he would accept an LSU offer if it was given, on the spot.

He obviously has the Luther Davis crybaby syndrome because he did not get an offer.

If LSU wanted him they would have him. Period. Another LSU leftover for Saban.

So Coach Porter visited him in-home last week just to tell him that they didn't want him?

And that doesn't wreak of unreliability to you? Especially considering DS made the same incorrect assumptions early on the recruiting process.

Like I said in the post above... Why would you're coaches visit him in-home at the beginning of this year just to tell him they don't want him?

Doubt they told him that. May have visited to talk about our numbers situation, DS's progress in the classroom and the possibility of setting up an official visit...

Is there a rule that states any time a coach has an inhome viist, the prospect has to have an offer?

And before he said he was solid to Bama, there wwas a lot of so-called LSU insiders on here saying that LSU offered and he would be switching his commitment soon. What happened to those people?

LSU offered me last Wednesday," Sentimore said. "It’s nice to receive an offer, but I am not going to acknowledge it. I am going to Alabama. Alabama is the school for me, and the only school I will visit."

"Alabama is winning, and they have a great program. They have a great coaching staff. I think they are going to win a national championship very soon. They have

Sentimore claims it was a verbal offer,so if LSU's new defensive coaches want him they will turn the heat up and we will see what happens
