He is the number 1 CB in the country and is visiting this weekend.

Whats interesting is that he is thought to be a heavy FSU lean but they are having a huge recruiting weekend and is coming here instead.

Do we have a legit shot?

Well, we have a reputation of putting DBs in the NFL. Every DB who is within driving distance will probably give us a visit

LSU is known for DBU, Florida has done us good, but IMG Academy is just a feeder school to FSU. I say we have a shot, but I think he's FSU's to lose.

What would be the dream CB class this year?

Savion, Fulton, ????

Trayvon? Greedy? Broussard? Ladler? Carter??

How many and how the heck do you choose?

With us only taking 2-3 CB why accept a pick so quickly that would almost shut the door on Carter.

I pray we stay home and lock up state.

K. Fulton
S. Carter
Cameron Lewis (he maybe safety)
Greedy

Although I love Mullens. I hope he chooses us soon.

I think LSU actually has a great shot at him, in fact I think LSU looks to close on Ladler and Savion ASAP, and pretty much move on from the DB position with the exception of trying to snag Clay Davis out of Georgia.

i would imagine the coaches will tell the top guys to commit while you can and push them to go early

definitely, with DB being an area of wealth right now, the recruiting staff is looking to get their guys and move on.

Not necessarily. While Weinke is their coach, a lot of kids from Gator country end up at IMG. The talent there is just absurd this year. Point is where a kid is from will have as much of an impact as a year or two at IMG will. Bo Scarbrough played there and never waivered. FSU will get the bulk of them this year but don't be surprised if Manuel drags his recruitment out, and Rashaun Smith is leaning towards Clemson. There's precedent for IMG kids spurning fsu

That said I do think Saivion signs with Florida State, but that would be the case if he played at Clearwater or Hillsborough too. They can offer early PT and they're as hot of a program as anyone right now.

Agree. Weinke cannot be the feeder to FSU he may want to be(just speculation really) at IMG. The academy holds their reputation to higher standard than to allow the perception that the football coach is blatantly pushing kids to a certain school. Too many major schools and head coaches will be through the school and would raise awareness to it if Weinke got too blatant. The school is bigger than the coach. He's not the draw, the school and overall support is the draw. They aren't gonna risk uproar over a few kids being funneled to FSU.

Also too many kids from different parts if the country to funnel them. They already have ingrained allegiances in most cases and that won't change. FSU will get their share but it will be because they are a hit, premier program with a great recruiting staff. They will not get all the kids they want from there. 50/50 would be considered great IMO.

Get your thinking but it may just be a case where Carter is not as high on Raymond's board as he is some of our fans. In fact offer timing and amount of attention shown to others back up that Carter is not as high as others are on the board.

Fulton
Smith
Mullen

That's the top 3. Ladler is an outlier and I agree about questioning if he is a take or not. He's good but where does he truly sit on the board? I have him no higher than 5th but I'm not Raymond. Gonna be interesting. Pretty confident the top 3 have a spot regardless. Mullen will not be turned away. He's Raymond's FL kid this year.

Haven't a couple people hinted at him pulling the trigger and being the one starting this DBU class?
