The competition amongst those guys will e great.

I believe he was told before he committed that he was recruited to be a CB per his request.
and RS came in as a QB.
just something to keep in mind.

Why can’t people on this board stop being so negative? Do you think the Gumps criticize any commits they get. I bet everyone little Nickie offers is an all American and going to be all pro.
I sometimes wonder if half the people on the LSU boards are really LSU fans and not covert operatives from other schools just trying to cause trouble.
Every sport has its one thing that separates the elite from the almost elite.
A friend of mine who played for the NY Yankees once told me in baseball everyone in AAA can run, catch and hit. Those who make it to the Show are the ones with arms.
Football it is speed.
Hell the kid is 6’2’’and runs a 4.4. You can’t teach size and speed. You can coach everything else.
You guys take one of the proudest days of a kid’s life and turn it to BS. Let the kid have his day. You don’t think other recruits are reading your posts. I bet half you guys never played a minute of football. But you are experts.
You speak for me and a lot of others on this board. Well said
Another solid pick up. This guy could turn out to be the best player in this whole process. I am 100% behind him and his commitment.

This is what I'm getting. We lost that guy immediately after he saw what kind of players we were recruiting... I heard he lost interest as soon as he left camp. Possibly during camp.
careful...i almost got banned and called a troll because i said this

And couldn't beat out JJ/JL.

I hear this of every "underrated" recruit. The fact is, very few will turn out to be anywhere close to Mo Claiborne.
Look, I'm excited about the pick up. The kid earned it against very elite talent but let's not proclaim every 2 and 3 star to be Mo or Mathieu.
Ok, I've never said that on this board. I’m referring to the fact that he is an underrated athlete, from the same city (Shreveport) that Mo Claiborne is from and the LSU fans seem to be having a similar reaction. If he were from Lafayette, Lake Charles, Alexandria… this would not remind me of Mo Claiborne.

That's the feel I got. If its not true and he wants to compete id love to have him.

why is everyone saying this. He may have done enough to impress the staff, but looking at his WEEKLY film, it's not very impressive. He may have just been the better DB not offered by LSU and was thus granted an offer.

Yeah, by the recruiting services.

This kid is a good player. 6'1" and runs 4.4, good ball skills. He played at Captain Shreve last few years and teams didn't throw his way. He was all state DB as a junior. Transferred this summer to Evangel for SR year to try to win State Championship. He has size and speed, with a little more coaching will be better.

and was told by our staff he could come in as a QB and played QB at LSU before switching.

Impressing the staff is more important than impressing you. They are done of the best coaches in the nation. They look at talent as "what can I do with him" not "what did his HS coach do with him".

Hence the remark of him being the better of the bunch who camped that haven't received an offer up until that point.

Ppl need to calm the frick down about taking these 3 star guys. Some of y'all think we should sign 25 5 star guys. That's not possible. We only have signed 15. We will get most if not all of these: LF, speedy, cam, Quinn, Dupre, McDowell, godcheaux, hootie, Garrett, brown. We will have room calm down! Congrats Santos!

No shite.
Just last week everyone was content with taking Michael Johnson, a 3 star whose biggest offer was from Louisville.
Ramirez takes his spot and some people freak that we're taking too many 3-stars
