Donte’ Starks did not show up to Auburn for “Big Cat” weekend, but made his way up I-10 to LSU to check in with multiple members of the staff. The state’s top linebacker, a priority target, spent time chatting up coach Ed Orgeron and had a chance to connect with newly minted 2020 verbal pledge TJ Finley, who Orgeron is using as a recruiting tool for the 2019 and 2020 classes.
quote:
Finley was not only the quarterback who camped. Jacob Free, who signed with Vanderbilt back in 2017, recently transferred to Northwest Community College, where the Tigers signed lineman Damien Lewis this past year.
quote:
Other quarterbacks in attendance included “Quad” Brown, who Ensminger scouted in the spring. Class of 2020 passer Luke Lunsford made the short trek from Denham Springs. Garrett Nussmeier, the son of former Florida offensive coordinator and current Dallas Cowboys assistant Doug Nussmeier, threw for the staff. Shadeur Sanders, who entering his sophomore year boasts a slew of impressive big-time offers, worked out both sessions. He, of course, is the son of former Florida State legend Deion Sanders.
quote:
Five-star LSU offensive line pledge Kardell Thomas was back on campus for a second day in a row. Thomas was keeping tabs on his teammates camping and spending more time with some of the current players and coaches. Thomas was not the only big man in attendance. Alexandria 2020 tackle Jacobian Guillory stuck around to support his teammate, Bud Clark, who worked out at defensive back on Sunday. The two spent a lot of time hanging out. Four-star Alabama 2020 tackle Jayson Jones made the visit to town for the whole staff and drew a lot of attention from James Cregg, Jeremy Hawkins and members of the personnel staff.

this part caught my eye

Along with Finley, Free was the most impressive quarterback on hand. At 6-5 and 200 pounds, he is the ideal size and is experienced, and could receive an offer from the staff in the coming weeks. In talking to sources at the camp, LSU has a plan for quarterback in 2019. Perhaps a junior college addition could be the course it takes.

Free could make sense. Would have 3 to play 3 by the time he got here and Burrow would be in his last year

Would Free be the same class as Lowell?

Free would be 2019.
After watching his video, what impresses me about Free is that he doesn't stare down receivers. He also follows thru well on his deep ball. Needs to add weight and strength. But would be a very good sign for 2019.

Thank you Grandmaster!

Yes, technically would be 2019 LSU signing class for Free. But to tenderoot’s point, he would have the same amount of eligibility as LN if he signed.

i went through the drive thru at popeyes on Burbank and BB yesterday. As the young man handed me my food, he asked if I liked football.
I said of course and he said Deion Sanders just walked in. I saw him through the window when I left. I was wondering why he was in town

I thought all of SECCountry was shutting down on 5/30, and Sam Speigs was out of a job. I'm very happy to see that isn't the case, at least not as of yet. Anyone has to scoop as to why?

I think it's at the end of June not May.

Think he was in town for the camp. Did Ray Lewis serve him?
