Who is our next, lower rated, target at safety for this year's class?

I think we have so many DBs that we are fine at Safety.

I think Thompson will be a great SS and Martin will be solid FS. After that we have tons of DBs and will get serious talent there next year.

Seems like J. Sandolph had a surprisingly decent freshman year - could end up being a better player than many expected.

We have Jeremy Cutrer and Rickey Jefferson in the 2013 class who are projected safeties. Last year we brought in Jerquinick Sandolph and Corey Thompson. Not to mention that next year we have a shot at Hootie and Paris. Safety is not at all a must have this year. You need to chill out.

Except that the staff has said its a must, which is why Jackson will get the full court press and we are still pursuing Carter, the UM commit.

Well we have two projected safties locked up, so the position that is a "must" appears to have some nice prospects this year and some possible superstars next year.

Isn't Jackson kind of small to play safety? Are they hoping to put weight on him?

If we can get Hootie and Paris at safety next year, losing out on Willis won't be that big of a loss

hed be a free safety, would have to add a little weight but would be fine with his size

Here's our current roster at S:

Sandolph
Loston
Thompson
Martin
Eugene

The only true safety so far committed is Cutrer.

Possible current options at S that are listed as DB or CB:

Dwayne Thomas

Current '14 commit at S:

Voorhies (<--total stud...watch his highlights...LINK )

Soon-to-be-Tiger for '14:

Paris (<--possibly the #1 true S in his class)

Just an FYI to make the discussion better.

Let's see how he pans out first. We ended up offering and taking Thompson after he followed his girlfriend at Bama, and Thompson has looked rather special in his limited time thus far. Physically, for the position, I'd take Thompson.

LC would've been an OLB for us, IMO...and I'd take either Debo or Kwon over him there.

But, yeah, it would've been nice to snag him, too.
