The legend y'all tell is that a Confederate Alabamian fighting in Lee's Army of Northern Virginia found a golden eagle that had been wounded by Yankee mortar fire during the Battle of the Wilderness (due east of Charlottesville in Orange County) in early May 1864. He supposedly nursed the eagle back to health and brought it home to the East Alabama Male College (now "Auburn U," mercifully).

So yes, as the flagship university of both the Commonwealth of Virginia and the South as a whole, you owe us one eagle.

And it's not that I don't understand Dr. George Petrie's impetus for choosing the burnt orange and navy blue colors of his alma mater (U.Va.) to represent the sports teams of the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama -- imitation is, after all, the highest form of flattery -- it still would be nice if y'all could give it a damn rest. And "Tigers" for a mascot, too? Jesus; could y'all do something original . . . anything original? Just ONCE would be nice.

There is a piece on ESPN Insider, Robinson is quoted as saying Auburn leads. He said he hangs out w/ Trovon when he goes to Auburn versus getting the recruiting process treatment at LSU. Says the only reason he'd stay at LSU is if he feels the need to stay close to home.

This kid looks like a Tackle to me as well.

Yeah, he's gone, unless the family keeps him close. AU can recruit, you have to give them that.
