I thought he was talking about someone who greyshirted the previous year. Yeah, I can't see any reason you couldn't pick a greyshirt as some guys you don't know will be a greyshirt until after the draft.

I have a lot of faith in Laughrea (at least compared to the fella they got last year). At worst, he's a career backup with one year of near-certain start in him. Considering how shallow the QB pool is this year...

Come on Dro, don't bone me Bro. I'm so close to getting my guy!
Posted on 3/30/11 at 12:37 pm to OBUDan
Dan and Pasty sure do love those Deland players. I can say from playing against Deland and also watching them play that you are getting a guy from a quality program. Plus they play in 6A ball here in Florida which is now 8A due to class bump ups. So everything you see from them is against really good talent.

Hey I think Terrance Smith was already selected.
If not i would have selected him 3 or 4 rounds ago. Dan or Pasty someone please check this. He is on the board as being picked at Defensive end.

Alright, I'm going to feel semi-retarded if this pick is somehow ineligible, already taken or something. I've checked everything (he's a 2011 guy, not drafted or at least not listed on the front page or any of the sheets, but I can't for the life of me figure out how the hell this guy was overlooked).
For this move to happen I'm moving Pop Saunders, who I originally slated as RB, to S. After doing some more research on Pop it looks like he's likely headed for defense at UF, and as an early enrollee he's already listed as a DB. Since he's a smaller guy, he'll probably end up at CB, but I don't think putting him at FS is a terrible stretch.
All that being said...
OBUDAN selects:
Clifton Richardson, RB
Pasty will probably hate this pick since he's going to compete directly with his boy, KP Parks. No one will probably read this, but I'd love to get an explanation as to why he hasn't been taken. This guy is a 4 star on EVERY site, except Scout, which misevaluated him and ranked him as a receiver, and that's where his major weaknesses as a player are. At Virginia, he'll be a RB, so it doesn't really matter that much. I thought maybe he was a lock for being a non-qualifier, but after some quick google searching, I found a UVA message board saying he made the grades and is good to go. Then I thought, maybe he's a troubled kid? Nope. If anything, he's a model citizen, as THIS STORY would attest. He's got offers from most every big school on the East Coast. He pledged to Virginia way back in March of last year. Reportedly, he just fell in love with the place. His dad tried to get him to look around, visit other schools, explore his options... he remained steadfast. By October, he solidified, and he signed on NSD.
Richardson played QB for his team (which was terrible). The logic being (like most HS), put your best player at QB. Virginia has turned out some pretty decent football players in recent history, despite not being a great football state. When I watch the tape what I see is a big, strong rugged RB with some definite speed and wiggle. He's got tremendous feet and excellent vision. He's generally a one cut runner that's looking to get upfield, but he can break it big and outside if necessary. With the uncertainty of the RB depth chart at Virginia, Richardson has a great shot of coming in early and competing for playing time, if not stealing the starting job.
Someone tell me what I'm missing, here.

Looks legit to me. I can only conclude that folks were scared off by Parks (future 2-3rd starter and all conference back).
Sincerely,
