FWIW: I spoke with Ricky Seals-Jones' father at 7:30, and he told me he was unaware his son had decommitted from Texas.

Got this off 247

And for the laughs, I saw this too

quote:

Torshiro Davis probably told Ricky that north Texas kids don't hang out with south Texas kids so he de-committed.

Texas was going to drop him if he took other visits so this shouldn't be a surprise.

False. I believe that Coach Royal would walk into Mack's office and slap the hell outta him if that happened.

Texas remains a possibility for Seals-Jones, but LSU and Texas A&M now appear to have a chance to land the playmaker. Also in the mix, according to his mother, are Kansas, Kentucky, SMU, Baylor and Cal.

Sounds to me as if his guy has playoff fever and wants to switch his primary sport from football to basketball. This is a way for him to become a national basketball recruit. He wants to be ranked on both sports. His schools show that football is second if he wants Kentucky and Kansas. That's what they do play basketball. As a matter of fact I think they played the title this year.

What does LSU hav to really offer a bball kid?

Basketball coaches that have a previous relationship with him and can offer playing time early. Add to that the power that LSU is in football and the need for more WR/TE big targets and its a very good fit not too far from home. Then he can decide if he is Jimmy Graham or Plaxico Burress. LSU has a history of successful 2 sport athletes

LSU has a lot to offer a kid in basketball. A rich tradition, the opportunity to be in on reviving that tradition. LSU basketball has a much better chance at success than UK or KU football.

This football/basketball thing basically never works out. Sounds like a lot of talk that will never come to fruition. He's playing AAU basketball this summer and doing well, so he's excited about his hoops potential right now. As soon as football starts in the fall, that will probably all go by the wayside.

Yep, makes for a great recruiting pitch though.

I've had so much fun trolling this morning.....wherever I can find a message board, RSJ's story, and lots of ticked off UT fans.

They're biggest comeback: "Have 'you guys' passed the 50 yd line yet?" #derp

I doubt this would actually happen.
