I see all the comments about kids doing it etc.
This is like a salesman promising something and not delivering. It's bad business and coaches are adults not kids. I understand you have to offer more scholarships than you have because of attrtition, but as a recruiter you should be upfront with your lower tier recruits...they understand the game, so why make it easy to get egg on your face.

You have a point....IF....IF what he says is true. Kids have a way of exaggerating, especially if they have an ax to grind. We will never get the other side of the story, so his account is all we have to go on. Just pointing out that what we have here may not be 100% accurate.
No matter whether it's true or not, he looks bad for airing it all in public. Most kids don't do it at this kind of level, even if they feel slighted by a school. And again, he is making the school that really wants him look like his backup plan. That's not a good look, but I doubt he understands that, or even cares. If I were a recruiter on the UT staff, I would be politely asking him to put a sock in it.

O was upfront with him, seems the kid just didn't like it and pouted to a reporter. There's something weird about this kid's situation, just read the quotes from the article.

I would be interested to know what, about his face to face or interview, would cause a school to ask him to take an English test? I could see if he was from a foreign country.... Sounds like he didn't interview well and the word got around. I realize his side is, most likely, very slanted towards him, but what I get out of the article is that everyone who met him (outside of the TN Staff) treated him like the plague afterward. Many, Many, Many red flags there. And the article makes him appear to be an idiot or something.

I RA'ed. Not sure why you'd post a negative piece on here.

Yep, coaching staff fricked up

But that all being said, a little premature to act like the coaching staff lost some top player that will come back to haunt us...
