You guys are really touchy with AU's number 1 receiver commit. What I said is true. If we had another go to receiver last year he would likely have put up big numbers.

Reed will put up big numbers over the next few years and be happy with his decision to go to AU IMO.

It may not be fair to compare Tubbs' offensive production and NFL output to Chizik's, but this isn't real life. It's recruiting, and it has it's own rules, or lack thereof. How many times do you think that opposing coaches used the "Saban's players" bit against Miles in his first three years? Hell, they probably use it more now. The fact is, until the new regime has enough time to build a track record, people will hammer them with whatever they can. It's not "fair," but that doesn't mean that it, and much worse, won't happen on the recruting trail. It's up to the player's to sift through it all.

BTW, no matter what AU's current staff will do and how the contrast looks, LSU has an impressive list of recievers in the NFL that have come from both Saban and Miles. That is the real selling point.

Well, Au's running attack is what made their offense. i'm sure lsu's passing attack was much better. Especially passes to the wr's vs rb's.

Just wait until we get a decent qb next year. The numbers are only going to get bigger and better. We had noodle arm this year who could barely throw it 40 yards. Won't be the case this coming season.

Why do you think your new QB is going to be so much better than your last one?

Does not bother me at all. Recruits are easily smart enough to evaluate the current situation and I seriously doubt output under Tubs makes any difference to any of them.

Again, past is the past and that is not what a recruit is basing their decision on. The current coaches and system is what matters. Not if a receiver was successful under Saban 5 years ago at LSU.

Todd was not very good. His arm failed him later in the season and he got worse and worse. Most of his success was attributable to Malzahn getting the defense in a bad situation and creating opportunities, many of which Todd still did not capitalize on. He cost us the Bama game missing wide open guys constantly. He missed Fannin on a WIDE OPEN swing pass in the flats that would have gone for 20+ yards easy in the early 4th. It would have put us in easy fg range for a double digit lead and likely ended the game for Bama. That easy frick up alone gave Bama a chance to go undefeated and win the NC as they would have been done down double digits in the 4th.

See what I did there speculation is pointless and means nothing.

Considering that LaFell will be drafted this year and that Doucet was drafted two years ago and Tolliver and Randel are both considered NFL quality prospects, I'm not really talking about past, am I? These are guys drafted out of Crowton's system. I am not a fan of his anymore, and there is no excuse for the struggles, but LaFell went into last season as a ? and now he is a first day lock. That is still present WR success.

I would like to thank the posters on this thread for keeping things civil and to the point. If Fobbs, Boone and Wright commit, there could be an odd man out. With saying that Lache and Reed are like best friends. If the Tigers get Lache, Reed just might get swayed.

Shouldn't he be going pro this year? Isn't he 21 or 22 or something?

Not trying to start a flame, but maybe he just wants to take advantage of a new place to live and play football for free? Auburn's a beautiful and safe city.

I get your point. But these guys aren't that stupid. They see what these teams are doing and why they are doing them. Auburn WRs as a whole didn't produce much because there wasn't much there...the ones we had were young and then you had Adams and Zachary who did great. Anyone who has watched Mahlzan at all knows that he spreads the ball around to his strengths...If it is all about WR production from previous years then why is Auburn so far ahead of LSU in the Recruiting rankings by position? Auburn ranked 13 vs LSU 32. After all LSU puts'em in the NFL why would they not come to you guys? Why are they choosing to go elsewhere? (Reed, Hunter and Davis) Not trying to flame, only trying to figure out the logic from these statements.

under previous staff? This does not make any sense at all. You can't judge AU now by what they did under Tuberville.

Give me a break jackass...ya'll are still pumping Bo Jackson up running back recruit's asses.

One of the running back recruits from this year said that the current staff was preaching Cadillac Williams and Ronnie Brown to him. I'm too lazy to look up the exact quote, but it was something like..."they had Cadillac williams, Ronnie Brown, and Bo Jackson. They know what to do with running backs there."

Blow smoke up someone else's arse.

I am a lifelong LSU fan with a son who is a student at Auburn. When LSU and Auburn play we agree to disagree. That said, as someone who loves LSU dearly Auburn is a safe and beautiful place.
