How confident were you guys that we were going to get McKnight 2 years ago? Are we setting up for a similar letdown with Randle?

I was never condident about McKnight simply because of his high school coach. Curtis has never shown any tendency to be purple and gold.

About 40% sure he was going to LSU.
I don't think so but OU does concern me a bit. I think Bama is third in this race.

i'd say I thought JM was about 10 percent.

any logical LSU fan didn't think he was coming to BR.

I don't think anyone that is serious about this stuff thought we were going to get Mcknight. JT hates LSU and that's that.

I therefore Hate JT and Curtis. The dude is a prick for not supporting LSU or staying neutral.

Noone is going to admit it, but I think everyone was 70-80% LSU, and hopeful (obviously). I hope this is not the same but it could be....

Really? even knowing JT would sell us out? and all the shite with Reggie Bush? I don't think people were 70%. They may have hoped but that's it.

FWIW, I feel the same way I did a week ago:

IMO, I think it is very similar. However I like our chances of RR a little bit more than JM. My thoughts were JM 45% chance we would get him/55% chance he went to USC. I think it's 40% chance we get RR, 25% chance he goes to OU and 35% chance he goes to UA.

Also, IMO and IMHO I was never as high on McKnight because he was from Curtis (traditionally overrated) and his All Star performance wasn't incredible. I've seen RR play and he seems like more of a can't miss guy.

LSU fans were confident and hopeful that Joe McKnight would sign with LSU. On the other hand, LSU coaches were just hopeful. Mack Butler, former Asst. AD - Football Administration, told me after McKnight's visit that he would be surprised if he chose LSU. He said he was distant and seemed not to be interested in the activities during his official visit. Anybody that is close to a member of the current coaching staff will tell you that they all feel very good about Randle signing with LSU.

Just my two cents.

Youre the a-hole that cant handle a rational question and is too dumb to type a decent response so all you can muster is "stfu".

I feel more confident about RR than I did about McKnight because McKnight was considering a school that arguably had something LSU did not: Los Angeles.

Not to disparage Norman or Tuscaloosa but they don't give you anything over Baton Rouge.

I am an optimist so I will admit that I was 60% sure McKnight would come to LSU. And I will put my current gut feeling on Randle at 85%.

I said 85% on Mingo too and that worked out well.

Also, in fairness, I thought our chances with Chad Jones were 70%.

Every recruit is different and every recruit has a different level of character. I will go on record that I will not bash Randle personally if he picks Bama because he and his family handled this a lot differently than McKnight. McKnight struck me as an arrogant little prick and thus far nothing has changed. I'm rather enjoying him failing to live up to the hype. If Randle chooses to go elsewhere, I'll question the decision but not the kids character. That being said, he will, of course, be Tiger Bait.

actually you can tell by some of the resposes just how much Randle's and or McKnight's decisions meant, now and then, to some Tiger fans. It's a valid question because both are rated top state prospect and to lose them is not only a blow to future success but to some peoples misplaced pride. Whatever, we survived quite well without McKnight and Randle is a solid young man who will enhance any program...just hope it's at LSU.
