Is a recruit who signs in December also an early enrollee? Or can he sign in December and then graduate from high school in May and enroll in August?

They are only early enrollees if they take classes for the spring semester.. they can sign in December and enroll in August

not necessarily. usually the recruits who are eligible for early enrollment will also sign in during early signing period since they plan to enroll in January - prior to the Feb nat'l signing day.

But you don't have to be an early-enrollee to sign early.
If you don't qualify to enroll early but also don't want recruiters from schools you aren't interested in continuing to pester you with phone calls for another 2 months or you just want to close the book on your recruitment, you can sign in December and get it over with.

Answers already given should clear it up, but just to add a little more...

Last year we had ~18 Dec signees, and of those ~6-8 were early enrollees. The others signed in Feb.

Early signee = signed & accepted Letter of Intent (LOI) in December signing period

Early enrollee = signee who begins school in the Spring semester (January), as opposed to the “normal” beginning of school in August.

21 unless I'm having a complete brain malfunction. We only had 4 spots available for the February signing period and only got 2 of our 5 targets for those spots.

21 counts Tracey, who signed in December, btw
