I love how simple this is to all of you. The staff actually DID reel in two very good prospects last year. What most of you guys don’t seem to understand is that, unless you have an established track record with QBs putting up big stats and going to the league, you aren’t going to pull a top prospect the year after two very good ones. There are very few schools that can sell that today.

This is the year that most schools would have brought in a “project guy,” like McMillan. A guy who has potential and is coachable and is likely to stick around to get a shot at one or two years of PT. Then you go after one or two more blue chip types the next year to put some separation in the depth chart. The staff doesn’t seem interested in doing that this year, but a transfer or grad transfer is a good way to add for the short term.

Long term, sure, we need to build depth at QB with high school prospects. However, we all know how things played out down the stretch with Miles and Cam. LSU has to PROVE that’s over and done with starting next season, and then build from there.

I'd have to look at high school highlights of a lot of these guys, but Beuchele is a no brainier to me. Doesn't have a big arm, but has been accurate, and has ran the read option some at Texas.

He won't play over Ehlinger though. That kid will be the next great QB when Herman gets settled in over there.
