Portal Day Research: QB Evaluations

The transfer portal is going bonkers, especially with QBs. It made me go back and look at the recent can't miss QB prospects.
I have long been suspicious of QB recruiting evaluations by the recruiting services and the Elite 11 selectors. But here are some fun facts about the 24 Members of the Elite 11 Class of 2018:
* 19 of the 24 have either transferred or are in the Portal
* 6 of them still play football but not as a QB
* At this point, maybe 5 of them will sniff the NFL (JD5, Sam Howell, Bo Nix, Spencer Rattler and Duggan)
It could be an anomaly of a year, but the 2019 class also looks like a lot of miss after the top 3 of Bryce Young, CJ Stroud and Anthony Richardson. And a quick look at the 2020 class shows at least 7 who have already transferred or are out of football altogether.
Food for thought when everyone gets excited about QB recruits.

It's always going to be hit or miss. Transfering is irrelevant to deciding how good they are because a lot of them pile up behind other high 4 and 5 star QBs. Clemson only gets 5 star QBs. Lincoln Riley, Ryan Day, Alabama, UGA had Fromm, Fields, and then Vandagriff and Stockton.
