we are leader for Brown and Hootie. if we scare off either of them we know where they would end up and LSU would be the loser relatively speaking versus the competition. just asking, not trying to be a negatiger. there is a limit to how many 5 star dbs you can get in one year.

Well, it means he's interested, but I meant it doesn't mean we're the favorite or anything

"Scare off"? How would we do that? By recruiting other 5-star talent? Oh, the horror!. . . Maybe we should stop recruiting altogether, except for those guys. Otherwise, we might scare them off. . .

None of these guys - Brown, Hootie, Peppers, Paris, or anyone else in this class - will be afraid of competing. That's one of the lures of LSU: You play with the best!

They all want to be a star (I hope), and any one of them can be. Regardless of who else is on the team.

This. In fact, look at Reid's production without TM last year. Having other great players in the secondary with you can help improve your numbers and your exposure.

Scare off
I fully understand the concern. With all the talent on this board, I'm not sure I belong, but I decided to keep trying, hoping the excellence would rub off and make me a better poster, husband and father.

I still think he ends up at Stanford but UM made a huge impression on him and some feel he's now leaning towards them.
