He's 6'1" 190 right now going into his junior year of high school. He should be 6'2 " 200-215 easily by the time he reaches LSU. Laird is faster, but Jake has more pop right now than Laird does. Hell the night he committed he hit a bomb over McNeese's scoreboard with a wood bat. He hit a grand slam at Tulane off a Southern Miss signee and another absolute bomb at A&M all with wood. This is a great pickup for LSU.

I'm not saying the kid isn't good I'm just saying not many people can achieve what mark did at OCS. And not many people can come to LSU as a walk on and become, most likely, a 4 year starter on the baseball team.
Thus forth, he is not on his level lol.
Then again, at the end of their college careers Slaughter will most likely be the better pro prospect if he ever gets any PT for LSU.
We still have a long way to go until we can make observations like that though obviously.

Almost impossible to top Laird's high school accomplishments. On the other hand, Slaughter is committed to LSU before his junior year while Laird had to walk on.

Tis true.
Better prospect, I just don't think he will be the better player. But we shall see.
OCS had another big time Sophomore a few years ago. Batted .440 and hit 16 home runs his Sophomore year.
He later got kicked out, went to Neville, signed with Arkansas, transferred and went to JUCO, and now is one of the leading hitters for Rice
Still a long way to go til Slaughter arrives on Campus but hopefully it works out and he is a future star

Wouldn't mind another Brandon Larson type

That was because he got head in the chapel, sent an explicit email to his teacher on an anonymous computer, and lit someone on fire during a science experiment hahahah

Haha didn't go to OCS but went to a school in Ouachita parish that's a baseball school and rivals with Neville. He hit an absolute bomb off of me. We were up by a lot and coach said when big guy gets up it's fastballs down the middle. Embarrased the shite out of a little ole sophomore who was only pitching due to the blowout

Lol it happens. He could smash the ball.
