I talked to Stevie Douglas and he straight up said he was better than Rivers... I know that sounds dumb but he said he wasn't kidding.

I couldn't agree more with this. I've seen things I like from Miles, especially the aggression and the way the team played in 07. When Crowton stepped in, everything went to stand still, unacceptable even with our QB adversity. The year he left Oregon, Dennis Dixon suddenly went from an athlete that showed flashes of brilliance into brilliant. I see the common denominator.

Same here. Hire a good OC, and I can live with Miles being the LSU coach for several more years to come.

Real facts are so refreshing on the Rant...

Let's add to that the fact that Steven Rivers held offers from Jimbo Fisher, Jim Harbaugh AND Norm Chow.

I for one believe these guys know a quarterback when they see one.

The rest of the world disagrees. I can sit here on my couch and say I'm better than Stevie Douglas. Jimbo, Norm and Jim seem to disagree with Stevie's statement also. The thing with Oliver and Douglas is they have had ample oppurtunities to show the LSU coaches what they've got, and while maybe our QB play hasn't been stellar the past couple years, let's be realistic about the situation... Everywhere Crowton has been, his offensive numbers have fallen from year to year because defenses have figured his trends out. It's not like we've been signing bad QB's, the guys we sign are good enough, our OC isn't.

If he can put some weight on that frame, I think he will be very good.

Do you really think that this kid will come into this program and not put on good solid weight? He has plenty of time to put on good weight. Does anyone remember how skinny Tommy Hudson was. He came in around 175. Now, I am no way saying he will be a Hudson, just comparing the weight. Don't compare a kid because he just needs to put on weight or he is skinny. I am not saying this because of your quote by the way, just reading a lot about his weight and how skinny he is. Hey, as of right now, he is all we have for the future.

We have one of the top weight training programs in the nation. No doubt we can put enough weight on him to endure the beating he'll take from SEC defenses. But IMO, we've been cashing in big time on some OL recruits lately, many of whom will be keeping SR off his arse.

From a recent rivals article, Rivers has supposedly already bulked up some. I'm sure he's not huge, but it shows commitment to getting bigger.
