what I'm guessing he's saying is Frank helped deliver those guys to Nick while at LSU and I would guess Nick promised a staff position in return but he didn't give him one

And since this is exactly what did happen - folks can draw their own conclusions.

Let's see - who actually DID give Frank his first (real) college job? (Obviously not counting his year as GA at his alma mater...)

[*checks with Google*]

Wait a tick - ED frickING ORGERON AT OLE MISS!

But with all due respect to Coach Wilson, what has Robinson at RB and Joseph in New Orleans not done that Wilson would have done?

I think FW would have found a way to handle the Akers/Etienne situation much better than we ended up doing. I put a lot of that on O, but he would have let Frank run with it, IMHO.

That was Juluke, not Robinson/Joseph.

Our New Orleans area recruiting has been great the last few cycles and we got 2 top 6 RBs last year and are rumored to be getting the #1 RB this year.

Is there a New Orleans recruit that we've gone after and missed on in the last few cycles? Van Pran is the only one that I can think of, and I'm not sure anyone could have convinced him to stay home.

You're right - I think he got fired behind that situation.

I think so too, but wasn't sure how much that situation played into his firing and didn't want to act like I knew the specifics.
