Isn't Chuck Wiley coaching at Southern lab?

I can't see any Prevot link if that is where Wiley is right now.

GA, I mentioned Kincaide on TSD but didn't see much about the events here so just didn't come to mind. He is one of my favorites and would take him in a heartbeat, as a 2nd QB. If things broke down with the top guys then I would accept him as the top guy but not right now. Whoever gets him is getting a steal imo.

That Texas post absolutely reeks of homerism. For Longhorns, everyone is cheating aside from them. Are they really that naive? Do they not know where their assisstant coaches, that are the bar setters on their staff's recruiting efforts, came from? They're SEC guys. SEC style recruiting doesn't leave you just because you're at Texas. In Longhorn fans minds the only way they can lose a kid is if someone is cheating. They're ridiculous. The contact excuses are easily combated. If the the kid wanted to talk to the coaches, then he would call them. LSU has been in contact with Prevot. Maybe the kid just isn't that enamored with the Texas staff like they think. Also maybe Texas insiders just overplayed their hand. Sonny said a couple weeks ago that his sources said it was a TAM/LSU battle more than a Texas/LSU one. It seems as though they may have been correct.

Also Diarse had a good showing at the NFTC combine yesterday according to 247. He worked out at S all day. Seen no mention of Tim Williams. The article is free on 247 if someone wants to link it or read it. About 20 kids mentioned and all are kids most know about.

Priest Willis also had a great weekend at the west coast 7 on 7 event. 247 even mentioned to watch out for LSU in his recruitment. Say he is a star at S but can also be a stud CB which he played all weekend. 6'2 190 hs CBs are crazy. And Laurence Jones is 6'3 215? It's nuts how talented these modern athletes are. Simply nuts.

With the guys lsu is targeting this year, how realistic is it that we will take a teammate package just to land the desired guy? I'm thinking nkemdiche is the only exception??

We could do a package deal with Priest Willis and Kenny Lacy. They are teammates, and both are top 250 players on every website.

Either of the deals would be great! Anyone think we pick up anyone this wknd? And anyone have a list of recruits who will be at the Spring game?

Word is that the Texas coaching staff isn't returning his phone calls.

Texas should do itself a favor and go after all the defesive talent WE want. Because over the past 3-4 years clearly we are doing something right over here and they aren't. I love our coaching staff's talent evaluation.

LSU has offered Florida DT Keith Bryant who has a pretty good offer list and is a soft verbal to Miami at the moment.

Keith Bryant Highlights

It's very unlikely that he would leave the state.

I'm generally not a fan of the package deals and frankly most of them don't work out the way they were intended anyway. I wasn't a fan of the Bridgewater/Rogers one.

For this year the 3 big ones on our minds are Willis/Lacy, Massington/Miles and Nkemdiche/Kamara. Massington/Miles is the only one that is a no brainer for me. Both kids are at poistions of need and worthy talents in their own right. A lot of people actually like Miles more than Massington and it's a worthy argument. Willis/Lacy is also one that is probably worth it but since I haven't really followed Lacy I can't speak on that one much. The Nkemdiche/Kamara one I'm against at the moment. One reason is that Kamara isn't better than our options already on the board at DB. Not even close. Another is that I don't feel they're really a package deal. Nkemdiche is just trying to get Kamara a good landing spot. What they don't seem to understand is that as soon as Nkemdiche commits to Bama, those offers for Kamara are easily rescindable, even on signing day. Do they really think coaches are that stupid? If a school has offered Kamara purely to get Nkemdiche they'll just require Nkemdiche to fax before Kamara. If they're serious about playing together then the offer to Kamara is more acceptable but I still am against it unless Kamare shows to be a top talent in his own right or we miss on the other guys on the board. Nkemdiche isn't so good that we need to offer a borderline kid to get him. No football player is unless it's a QB. 1 DL isn't going to make that big a difference imo. I wouldn't be upset if we offered Kamara and got the 2 of them but I am against it.

Uhhhh...I'm not so sure. We're deep in the secondary so Kamara probably won't play anyway. So I don't think it would hurt so bad to waste a scholly on a player who may end up being processed in a couple of years anyway in exchange for Nkemdiche. As of right now, we are in deep need of DL's. Granted, I would not say do this for anyone else... I just think in the case of RN, it would be worth it IMO. jus saying...
