Never said that Auburn fans would like his choice. I believe you are misstating the quote where he said fans would be surprised in how he mentions his choice. Completely different.

Nah, the complete quote, stated in front of Auburn fans,

"Y’all are going be very, very surprised what I do at the Army game.. Everybody is going to be surprised. I can’t release the information of what I am going to do, but you all are really going to enjoy where I go to."

I was trying to add that he favors Auburn right now, but the edit was in my quote instead of my response.

Not necessarily. A lot of coaches tell recruits not to verbally commit this early for various reasons, and Lache himself has incentives to keep his recruitment open.

You really think Auburn coaches told Lache not to commit yet?

I don't believe I said that; and I'm confident if you read my previous comments you would find that if I really did imply that, it would be quite hypocritical of me and contradictory to my previous comments. So no, I do not think the Auburn staff has told Lache not to commit yet.

Well shite, it's early so it is not like it matters anyway. But, at this point in the recruiting game every sign you can look for points to Auburn. I realize things can change quickly, but still.

No, not every sign. There are things in LSU's favor as well.

I believe CFBFan's list provides a good listing of many things pointing in our favor. I'm intrigued to know, at this point, what sign points to Lache going to LSU?

Maybe he has already committed but hasnt made it public, hence a silent committment

If he has committed silently, it would make sense not to make it public.

If he came out right now and committed to Auburn publicly, he would be bombarded by every other school in the nation that is recruiting him telling every reason under the moon on why NOT to go to Auburn.

Pete Carroll himself sometimes discourages public committments for this same reason

A plethora of reasons; the two I focus on the most being:

1. He has numerous incentives to keep his recruitment open.

2. He might want to scope out other options before he actually commits.

I'm not Lache, I can't tell you where he is going or what reasoning he has behind it. What I can tell you is that every possible sign you would look for with a recruit to speculate where he will end up points to Auburn. Auburn has to be considered his current leader.

Family close by in Louisiana, one of his best friends in Reed has LSU as his top school right now probably, knows many players on the team, has been to LSU campus probably more times than AU's, LSU has been recruiting him longer, LSU has a need at RB (not saying Auburn doesn't), he's from Louisiana, etc.

He does really like Auburn, and yall very well may have a lead of some sort right now. None of that means that he doesn't really like another school or two as well.

Well, currently I'm hearing tons more love from him regarding Auburn and its campus than anything to do with LSU. So that point is somewhat irrelevant.

quote:

LSU has been recruiting him longer

At this point that is pretty much irrelevant.

quote:

LSU has a need at RB (not saying Auburn doesn't)

Auburn does, so this is also irrelevant. Besides, even if we didn't have a need, I'm sure we'd make room for a runningback of his caliber.

he's from Louisiana

I thought he was from Texas?

I have no clue. Just pointing out the irrelevance of you saying 'why hasnt he committed". Recruits commit silently all the time.

the following quote says a lot for me (if it's a valid quote)

Coach Chizik knows my coach really well and my pastor is so close to (Auburn running backs) Coach (Curtis) Luper. He doesn’t push me to Auburn, he just guides me since I’ve been small and teaches me to be tough. I’m not going to always have my mom, so he’s teaching me to be a man early on.”

chizik has personal relationship with Lache's HS coach from his days at Texas. Auburn's RB coach, potentially Lache's position coach, is very close to Lache's Pastor

Those are two strong personal ties to Seastrunk

A link to a legitimate website would be enough to suffice regarding citation.

He clearly does like Auburn a lot. That doesn't mean he doesn't like other schools a lot as well.

Neither you nor me knows if that is relevant or not. I think it is bc he knows LSU's coaches very well. I'm not saying that it's an advantage for LSU over AU, I'm just stating that it's a positive for LSU.

quote:

Auburn does, so this is also irrelevant.

Sorry, I didn't know to only list things that LSU has in favor as opposed to Auburn. I was thinking more in the lines of what are positives for LSU. This happens to be a positive for both schools.

I think he's from Leesville originally. When he came to LSU camp last summer, he talked about how great it felt to be back home.

No, he is from Louisiana and moved to Texas.

Also, supposedly related to Michael Ford, 09 LSU Commit.

But none of this matters, guys. Auburn has him locked up because of all of his connections to Auburn.

Conversation over!

Congrats AU!

I know it is. But just bc Lache isn't talking about other schools at this point in time doesn't mean he isn't interested in them.
